I'm honestly scared for a GTA IV remaster at this point. For how much shit I used to give it, I've begun replaying lately and am enjoying it way more than I did when I was 18. I guess age has allowed me to appreciate it more.
I'm scared of remasters in general. How hard is it to take an older title and enhance it for modern hardware? The foundation is there.

So many bugs, it encompasses an HOUR long montage. A chunk of them from San Andreas.

I wonder if Michael Hollic like.....appreciates the fans? Obviously he sued over not getting paid which is definitely something he should have done but is it a similar case to CJ where he wants nothing to do with it? Does he realize the majority thought his performance as Niko was spectacular? I've always been curious.

He didn't even sue Rockstar. He just said in an interview that he didn't get paid royalties for his work being used in commercials/trailers, and it sucked that his representation didn't fight for him to get that.

It was actually "fans" at the time who threw such a bitch fit over him daring to say anything even slightly bad about Rockstar. So I doubt he appreciates them, but I doubt he hates them either. He just moved on.

Honestly, I think it's kind of pathetic how much Ned Luke and Solo seem to feed off pathetic GTA fanboys at this point.

GTA IV, while beloved, wasn't a runaway hit with the GTA fandom compared to San Andreas. Also, like you said, his beef with R* was over royalties not being pushed by unions. Oh, I almost forgot. Things were different ten years ago compared to now. ComicCons for IV weren't as common as all these shows about V with Franklin, Trevor and Michael.

>Housers gone
>Benzies gone
>Lazlow gone

It's actually a blessing that GTA VI will never be made.
I'm also of the belief that GTA VI will never be made. But instead, I think there'll be a sequel to GTA Online that's a game on it's own. Or even worse, GTA VI will be GTA Online 2. Imagine that shitshow.

It really sucks that GTAVI couldn't have released before they all bailed, it just feels wrong because we got 3 GTAs during the PS2 era, but never got a third one to round out an HD era trilogy.

I don't think they'll bother with a single player storyline either, all the creative talent on that front is gone.

Oh, it'll be made. It'll just be a shell of its shadow. GTA V (and Online) cannot last forever. They're bound to hit a limit.
I mean, it already overstayed its welcome as it is.

GTA V came out 8 friggin' years ago...

People who think this will affect R*'s cred with consoomers are dreaming.
GTA IV on pc still sucks ass and slows even NASA computers down to 30fps if you dare press hard on the gas.

No one cares.
No one cares that GSG never patched the HD SA edition.

R*'s goodwill won't ever be questioned until GTA 6. Hell, it could be announced 6 in an Online-only game it still wouldn't hurt R*.

If we are being honest, the ‘story’ in SP GTA V was lacklustre at best. The storyline cohesion and character personality which they had for GTA IV, and to lesser extents, SA/VC, was totally absent in V. They tried too much and the whole plot felt utterly disjointed and aimless.

Too many pointless and under-explored characters also; countless loose ends unresolved, and to be honest, the section where Trevor and Michael have their mid-life hissy fit in the graveyard - the showdown built up for the whole game - genuinely made me burst out laughing with how badly anticlimatic their big tete-a-tete ended up being.

Throw in post-2016 wokery, diversity and political cancer - and any possible SP storyline for a new GTA VI would need an absolute miracle to not be a fucking diabolical antithesis of what once made GTA stories so compelling.

All that aside, I too believe that any GTA VI will actually end up being GTAO2: Russian Hacker Boogaloo.

I'll admit, I gave R* the benefit of the doubt with IV being poorly optimized on PC.

"It's a new engine, there's bound to be problems." I would think, especially now, that delaying releases for PC would allow them to optimize their games for the flexible hardware. AFAIK, GTA V's PC launch was great.

But, this Definitive Edition absolved all goodwill R* had over the years.
