Honestly.
While im not ass uggo, or trans ect, i played with the idea of using an image or something during live streams with mutual acquaintances (not friends). Ive always valued privacy and being anon, and its getting harder for that to be acceptable online. Like when I want to join in on VC in my hobby groups, but, that kinda ruins my efforts.
(Actual friends i talk to and video chat normally, just not everyone. I know its a dumb as hell game to play but, might as well)

No no, they BECAME a mute vtuber. They had an old channel where they i guess they used their voice, and pretended to be a girl. Probably used the my voice is just weird excuse. The audience was mostly spanish, people probably got suspicious of his gender, and he dropped that account and became a mute vtuber. But somethings happened that's forced them to reveal the old account and how they pretended to be a woman. Can't find the name of the old channel sadly.

And zentraya is the tranny using a text to speech program that somehow got into vshoujo. Why they thought it was a good idea is beyond me.

A mute vtuber has outed themselves as a tranny, after feeling guilty (afraid of being caught) of having an old account where they pretended to be a woman.

So how do y'all feel about the vtuber boon/saturation. Is it a benefit to find new folks to watch? Or a burden as you gotta wade through all these randies

It's basically is a sign of how vtubing is becoming less and less niche and more of just a standard alternative to webcam streaming. Just as there are tons of webcam streamers, there are tons of vtubers. Sure, this means that most vtubers are very average, but that's true for any medium. I personally don't mind going through and trying random vtubers out to find the ones that I like, and people who don't want to do that can always just stick to following one or two agencies.

Personally I think the advantage of being able to stream while not caring what you look like on camera is quite nice, as it allows for people who probably wouldn't be webcam streamers to get into this form of content creation, and some of those people end up being really good at it.

Well there is an old rumor that zen is 2 people. A boyfriend and a girlfriend playing the character, the girlfriend doing the movements and playing and the boyfriend doing the tts. Here is where it started, if that rumor has any merit, then i would assume the girlfriend was who "got in" vshoujo and the boyfriend wasn't mentioned.

Seems like an awful lot of work when the girl could just do it herself with her own voice, so if i you ask me, i would say vshojo just decided to troon out 1 time to test it out. It went well unfortunately.

It would not suprise me one bit. I might not like loli, i don't say it should be illegal, its not actively harming a real child, i do think its a little distasteful. HeykidsTV was the best Vtuber from before there was even a name for it. He's long gone, unpersoned from youtube as well as the reuploads of his weird content but if you've seen him when he was alive years ago during the spiderman elsa shits rise he was like those channels but he also had his own videos where he had a mocap avatar and would ramble on about random shit. Eventually he made a "character" for himself and claimed to be a rogue nazi AI at war with google and apple or adolf Hitler himself. Cue several youtube channels fearmongering about him resulting in him being flagged down permanently with the only surviving footage being reuploads or these commentated reaction videos people did of watching him. Last time I checked the reuploads of his weird rants are gone, fucker was a one in a million youtube anomaly.
