When Grosskunt's charges were dismissed, the ADA said he was a "special case". They played fast and loose with the evidence ans witnesses, something they probably do all the time. This is what Brady is meant to prevent, hence the possibility of a mistrial with prejudice, and no second bite at the apple, no more kicking the cat down the street (which is haram anyway). Taken as a whole its the kind of thing appellate courts hate and a career killer for any ADA.

I don't know how it is in America, but here you are put through two massive and very difficult exams before becoming a lawyer. To become a prosecutor you need a very good grade, which is quite difficult. In contrast to social science law is very logical and there is a lot of information to process. If it is remotely similar in America Binger AND Krause cannot be idiots, no way. This was a stupid, stupid gamble.
The way I see this as an outsider there is no way that an intelligent and educated man would do it without beign assured by someone with a lot of power that he gets away with it.
I know, my view hinges on piggy and Littlefinger beign rational, but that is the only way this makes sense in my eyes.
