Earlier in the thread, there was an article stating the reason why US Marshalls are present. Take a guess why, it has something to do with the entire reason this case manifested. However, how'd they obtain the information could be many different ways or reasons. Heck, it could be as simple as someone making a comment in confidence to the Marshall considering they are "authority" and trusting them. Either way, several grains of salt.

re: hang jury, remember each count is individual so a new trial would exclude charges that are settled (guilty or acquit). There's no way the judge doesn't strongarm the jury into at least resolving a few of the more clear cut charges (byecep and skateboard imo).

Bycep and Skateboard are somewhat predicated on the verdict regarding Rosenbaum. I'm not certain that doing it piecemeal is such a quality idea.

That dude doing the course is not a scientist, he's just a local firefighter with experience. He hasn't done wide scale tests of his theories on a major level following the scientific method. It's pseudoscience. And you trainees have no bones to qualify you to testify on any of this. You are not a scientist, you are a public servant, these are not the same. And it's terrifying when one considers that literal lives are at stake. Your proposed method of expertise had been proven wrong and exonerated time and time again. The American public deserves far, far better methods, based on science, than what your post literally proposes. People are executed over this joke of a science.

Firefighters do not determine cases of fraud or arson. That is a state fire marshal (in my state) who does have formal education. You would have known that, if you had spent an extra thirty seconds reading my post, instead of sperging out about firefighters.

They are primarily useful as a threat "suggestion" by an investigator--see how the person of interest reacts to the casual proposition that they take a polygraph. But you're right--all they really measure is how nervous a person is--sociopaths can beat them easily.
