Man cannot live on beans and rice alone, but the flipside of all this is that sushi isn't survival-food either.
Do these people not know survival food services exist? Food banks and such? It's not great, in fact a lot of times it's gross and humiliating, but it keeps you from starving, goddammit.
I thought we all already learned this from the soup kitchen in Neopets.

I'm unable to quote or reply to @dirt lamb but King Midas ties into the October Evans saga. The thread is only 10 pages long so feel please review the whole thing. Evans has been harassing Midas for some time. It's like a perfect storm of scumbag grifters.
More importantly the conflict brought in a new fighter. Paris Glass was discovered on the Deaf Community Thread and became Midas most ardent support and October Evans worst enemy. Again, I encourage you to go through the entire October Evans thread. Just yesterday Paris finally admitted Midas was a scammer and released this video.
Paris is an annoying TiKToker with an enormous following and may be the biggest cow in the entire saga.

Update on this fuck - he has set his video to unlisted. He is no longer taking donations on GoFundMe with a claim that a person donated the remaining balance privately. He scammed a total of $1,028

Either euphemism treadmill - "it's people experiencing homelessness now instead of homeless people" or obfuscation word games. I wouldn't really call someone moving AirBNB to AirBNB homeless. Possibly "sure I'm renting this property but I OWN NOTHING".

Okay, some of those prices have changed. Last I heard, the rent would be $800/month. Now it's $750? And the overall goal has jumped to $15,000.
Okay, that is nasty, to be fair. But if a hotel really had that much mold damage, it should be shut down by the health department. But no, you just... stayed there? For months? Paying for that? You can't tell me there weren't any other hotels in the area. Were you squatting?
It's literally free to get vaccinated for COVID (at least in my area. You can even just walk in and go "hey, gimme the jab" now!). Also, you'd think that an asthmatic would take one look at that room and go "oh fuck no" and leave. If you really stayed in and paid for that room for months while suffering from a breathing condition, you are literally exceptional.
If I donated to that GFM and saw them spending the money by giving it to someone else, I'd immediately ask for a refund and report the GFM for fraud. You do not have the leeway to give other people money while you are homeless. Donating only comes when you are in a good place in life, and homelessness is about as far from being in a good place in life as you can get.

I've got to say this. None of these beggars grew up poor. And when I say poor I mean having such low funds that you actually need government assistance, not being broke sometimes. When you watch your parents going to food banks or using food stamps to get food for the family, you learn at a young age how to use the system to get by, and as an adult you do the same, since poverty is a cycle most families don't get out of. You find local food banks, you go to churches and get food weekly. Sometimes hit both to get extra food. It's how you survive and you live with it. If you have no car, ride a bike with a trailer to get there. There's no excuse for why they can't do this except plain laziness. You have a better chance of getting the food by going out yourself instead of relying on donations. That's why this is all so stupid to me
