Maybe jurors these days should be required to sit through some basic tech literacy lecture...don't they get advice on how to look at evidence correctly or whatever? So painful to hear the excuses about 'accidentally compressing' videos, it's like that thing students do where they intentionally corrupt a file to get an extension on an assignment. At least the woman speaking right now is savvy enough to both know and explain the situation.
I also predict prosecution saying that RENAMING FILES ruins them or something.
or only to be picked from stem graduates

He's outright said that if this is to be resolved, it requires expert testimony. He took it off the table as an option to just continue.
The more this goes on, more I'm starting to dislike this judge. He's too hesitant to do what's proper for some idiotic reasons. Kid's life is on the line ffs, stop playing games.

I do have faith in the free market. I don't have faith in the government-economic complex, nor do I have the audacity to think that giving the government even more power will make it go away.
“I have faith in the free market” is such a silly thing to say. The “free market” didn’t exist until the modern state system emerged, it is predicated on contract enforcement and absentee ownership, which are guaranteed by the state. Furthermore, those who initially built their fortunes in the “free market” are naturally incentivized to prevent market competition from reducing their control, and the state is incentivized to work with them. Thus, the natural incentives that emerged out of the thing you have faith in are what ends up destroying it.

Regardless of all this, the free market as it existed in the 18th and 19th centuries isn’t coming back no matter what you do or how hard you try. The moment a country starts operating on “free market principles” it would begin to lose power relative to other states and eventually be forced to readopt a regulated/controlled market or be outright vassalized/conquered.

There’s a reason very few people who understand politics are libertarians, it’s just an absurd and impossible belief system.

This thread in a nutshell:

Also funny how the video changes filenames. On the prosecutions drive, it's named one thing and in HD and it named something different in SD when the defense receives it.

Thank fuck technology is literal witchcraft, so that's how this must have happened, huh?

And now Kraus wants to make a deal lol
