I need to find that screen cap I took of her asking Kim Kardashian to donate to her cause. Yes, she really did that. Gonna add when I get off work.View attachment 2726416
Man. Colin gives her attention a few times and now she just constantly asked him to Retweet.
It may not be the food you want, but you won't go hungry. Lots of local FB pages have members who offer to give away food too.View attachment 2725452View attachment 2725453View attachment 2725454
So, are all these people too stupid to figure out how to apply for food stamps or go to food banks, because that's what I think whenever I see these. They're too stupid to find ways to get free food. Every person who has grown up poor figures that out.
They sometimes give decent stuff to. Sometimes if you ask around you can find city spots to get tons of food because they're desperate to give them away. Bags and bags of food.It may not be the food you want, but you won't go hungry. Lots of local FB pages have members who offer to give away food too.

Cops arrest thieves. Why are all of these people all "ACAB"?
Good news is that recently they started a new program called ABLE accounts which enables people on SSI to be able to save some money. The only issue is that it is only for people who become disabled at 26 or younger. I suppose it is that way because they assumed people over 26 would have enough of a work history that they would be receiving SSDI instead where they can save up money. Ideally, if you are married and become disabled after marriage, you would have a substantial enough work history to receive SSDI which allows you and your spouse to have assets and what not, but if you are something like a housewife and don't have that much of a work history, well, you are pretty much screwed. To be fair, salty and hyperbolic language aside, she has a point here. If you're on SSI you can't have more than $2,000 in assets. No owning a home. No real savings. No retirement. A cheap, crappy car, maybe. If you get married while on SSI you lose your benefits because your spouse makes too much money. Since being married gives people legal protections as well as romantic/religious reasons, this really sucks for both parties in the relationship. If you're already married and become disabled you're told by the government employees to get a divorce if you want benefits.
Hey, that's awesome! I hadn't heard about that, I don't stay on top of the disability advocacy thing for SSI too much.Good news is that recently they started a new program called ABLE accounts which enables people on SSI to be able to save some money. But yeah, I do remember Trump wanting to take into account social media accounts for disability determination since there was and still is (as illustrated in the munchie thread) a huge problem with munchies. A lot of disabled people were concerned that they would base their decisions based on stereotypes for disabled people and if they were shown to have any sort of fun, they would lose their benefits, that of course, didn't happen.
Bitch please, if you're so salty about renting why don't you buy? Oh wait, you're broke and can't afford the hoops it takes to get a mortgage? Besides, if you own you can't make someone else fix the shit you break.
Some landlords are assholes, but someone has to own and maintain the houses renters live in. Someone has to pay the mortgage and the cost of the repairs and maintenance. Since the owner isn't living there then according to that equity shit you're so fond of, the person living there is the one who should pay for it.

Being disabled sucks. There's a lot of depression about not being able to contribute to your relationship financially or otherwise. You feel like a drain on society and the relationship. Accessibility devices aren't cheap. Having insurance and a little bit of income, even if it's the pittance that SSI gives you, helps a person feel less like a waste of space.
So it's kind of bullshit that the rules are so strict. Disability advocates have been yelling about this for years.
But the extra language is uncalled for. The rules are to discourage malingering and supposedly prevent fraud, but getting SSI is ridiculously hard. SSDI isn't much easier in most states.
So your evil KKK black hating landlord fired the people you had trouble with and reduced the amount you owed and said he'd get professionals to fix the problems?
Yeah, he sounds like a real fucking asshole.
I suspect there are laws up there that says she's required to have heat. Down where I am there's a requirement for cooling of some sort and if the power gets turned off for non-payment and you're low income/indigent/disabled/elderly you can require the electric company to turn your power back on and set up a payment plan because the heat down here can kill.
Agreed. She is right about how bullshit disability rights still are in the United States, but the language was so hateful that it just killed it for me.Good news is that recently they started a new program called ABLE accounts which enables people on SSI to be able to save some money.
