Noted. This is all new information to me and what I initially stated was what I'd gathered from a cursory overview of the facts.

So the weapon was in Kenosha already and the argument of self-defense is being made. That dramatically changes the light in which my original assumptions were made. Still, I believe that even if it was in self-defense, something like manslaughter (maybe involuntary) might be applicable here?

Again, I've noticed that both sides of the media have done their shit best to demonize both sides of the conflict here, and in my particular point of view, the focus of the case should be the incident itself, not the particular background of any of the parties.

Let it be clearly noted that this is MY OWN personal opinion and that it has no legal weight or bearing on the current proceedings, but regardless of what either men did or didn't do, lives were taken that day, and even if it was justifiable self-defense, there should be some sort of repercussion or consequence to the author of said actions.

Give me one reason beyond "muh feels" that the deaths of Rosenbaum and Huber, and the vaporisation of Grosskreutz' arm, should result in any sort of repercussions for Rittenhouse. All three attempted to murder/cause great bodily harm to Kyle, and he was forced to defend himself with deadly force.

Kyle Rittenhouse was in no way at fault in any of these events, he was attacked for no justifiable reason, made his absolute best effort to retreat in all cases (Despite this not being required legally), and only shot when left with no other options. This is not "Manslaughter", this is self defence. Killing is not a sin, nor morally objectionable. Killing unjustifiably is. Kyle's actions constitute the former.

He had EVERY right to be in Kenosha, had EVERY right to carry the AR-15, and had EVERY right to defend his life with deadly force from the four (including Jump Kick Negro) degenerates that attacked him, and made an incredible effort to remove himself from these situations without having to resort to deadly force. His hand was forced.. You're suggesting punishing the kid for not letting four people murder him, which is absolutely disgusting.

Trying to divorce these deaths from the events surrounding them is ludicrously intellectually dishonest.

EDIT: Oh, wait... He "left" the thread?

Again, all stuff we'd not see, which makes the people bitching about the defense not doing anything... kinda null and void. Again though, like the other person who brought similar things up, I -do- agree that is the best bet.
Ah, so them hashing out the video stuff won't be on camera? That's sad.

Just to throw more autism on the pile here, the Vic Mignogna appeal could come down today too.
how the fuck is that shit still going on? i stopped following that shitshow a couple weeks after it started because the thread is full of exceptional weebs fanboying over anime voice actors, but from what i've heard since then he just kept losing in court at every opportunity, no?

No, they've spent for-fucking-ever waiting for the Court of Appeals to un-fuck the ruling Chupp handed down.

A lot of things about this trial happened off-camera. Whenever either the judge or the lawyers say "I don't have it with me" or "I'll give it to you later", there are things happening off-camera either during breaks, or after the court is adjourned for the day.

He lost an initial SLAAP hearing where the judge basically got bored, refused to review anything and pushed the case off his docket. It got appealed immediately, and was fully briefed to the appeals court a few months later. However, since the defense dumped thousands of pages on the records the Appeals court has taken almost 2 years to respond. It's expected soon though as Vics case is now the oldest on their docket.

notably, this guy:

he was a conservative monarchist, and a member of parliament. after a socialist police chief was assassinated by a falangist, a group of policemen came to this guys house, arrested him, and later murdered him in custody. no charges brought against him, not even the pretense of a trial, just straight up revenge-killed by police on the spot.
Yeah, the state sanctioned murder always gets me. My grandfather knew a few guys who went over to Spain because they bought the message and like Orwell they got really depressed at the actual reality of what was going on, in-fighting and how certain parties would horde resources. Mostly how communists and journalist would constantly lie or mischaracterize everything. My grandfather hated Hemingway because of how his accounts and lot of other guys differed, still loved the Old Man and the Sea.

Fucking Chupp, dude. I came to KF because of that case, despite not giving a fuck about Dragon Balls or voice actors, just the character assassination itself was egregious. That's how I discovered Rackets (over 300k subs now, Christ)
I'll have to rewatch Ron "Sheep Dog" Toye deposition some time, that shit was fire.

Does anyone have the video of Rittenhouse crying in police custody? The day after when he surrenders to the police?

Whats wild is how Franco got maligned by history for corrupting democracy or some shit. The Spanish Commies really fucking deserved the massive right wing backlash that came there way. They were elitist pricks who viewed the rural Spaniards as ignorant rubes who just needed to get with the revolution or else. Well, the or else happened, and it was not good for Urban Spain.

I've always found the similarities between pre-civil war Spain and American politics now alarmingly similar.

Hard Urban-Rural split? Yep.
Socialist elites in media and universities attacking traditional culture? Yep.
Selective use of State power in favor of the Left? Yep.
Very narrow election margins with accusations from the right of chicanery by the left? Yep.

It's literally beat for beat the same scenario.

With his mom? I remember it being somewhere in this thread, probably last 300 pages or so

Ok it was in my youtube history
>First one I pull up is the media spinning it as Kyle being uncaring, more worried about social media
>Literally is just a clip of his mom worried about them slandering his character
>Him consoling his mom
Why was Nixon so right about the Press?

the spanish right had powerful allies in nazi germany and fascist italy, both sent volunteers that helped franco win the war.
the american right does not have that luxury sadly. it could probably draw a significant amount of foreign volunteer fighters on an individual basis, sure, but that does not compare to the well trained and highly organized military units that hitler and mussolini sent to help franco.
