In case you missed it, I kinda forgot to post these clips, but Astel and Matsuri had an Apex Legends collab. IIRC, the reason this happened was because they were sorted on the same team while playing Ranked, and Astel was streaming, but the sound was shit and they couldn't voice chat (if it was planned before this, then I didn't know). Anyway, the clips are interesting and there are various moments of interaction from Astel trying to interact with Matsuri while she is being Matsuri, Astel being Astel, and an idea about a song collab. Enjoy.

Kiara talking about more friends of her's in her cosplay groups knowing about her being in Hololive and the fact that 'friends of friends' know, to the point that two Hololive-obsessed people are aware of her locally. Some kinda drama is gonna happen sooner or later. Is it worse or better that she's a bit isolated in a smaller country?

Precisely, if they get some resistant schizo that won't stop despite multiple warnings and DMCA takedowns they can't do much unless they dedicate some serious cash for this. But their main concerns are about the schizos in their homeland, they are the dangerous ones. If you got some guy like the one who harassed Mel obsessing over them here it wouldn't hurt them much as they cannot stalk and/or harm them in person, but some japanese dude with enough dedication is a problem!

They certainly aren't going to fire her over this, they didn't fire Aloe. EN is it's own insular golden cow right now (ironically quite like Japan itself) and having a suspension on a smaller roster fucks up their collabs and the group dynamic, the chicken would need to really fuck it up to get suspended, I'm talking doing cocaine on Yagoo's portrait while shit talking her manager kind of fuck up lol!

a lil late (plus, disclaimer, am no law expert but copyright bs more or less goes and in hand with streaming/content creation online nowadays) but this is likely the result the music industry in Japan treats covers/karaoke and monetization of said covers/karaoke versus the Western music industry. I haven't tuned into anyting Hololive Songs as recently uploaded but if there are non-archived English songs sung by the EN branch (and to an extent, anyone from the JP branch too), well.. SME, UMG, WMG etc etc will probably go with how litigation can go about, the shotgun method. Sue and serve everyone you can, take what you get.

Something something, law stuff and bullshit but its reasonable Cover could be found guilty of music copyright infringement for, instead of shutting it down but rather, allowing clipper channels to host clips of their talents singing songs they do not have 100% permission and rights to sing. "But IANH, can't the record company just go after the clipper?" Again, shotgun approach to litigations plus the cause-and-effect/question of liability/responsiblity (Cover's talents sang the song, clippers clipped the song, hosted it, Cover knows better, why didn't Cover shut it down, etc etc many ways asshole lawyers for record companies can spin this).

Does Cover want to risk all this? No, because these fucking record companies will drown you in their legal team and/or the legal fees. Better to issue those claims themselves, try to wipe as much as they can to avoid the possibility of having to deal with it, pray the record labels don't try to fuck em over in the ass for anything else.

Is this a bit heavy handed? Probably. But you also have to think how fucked up copyright laws are and how bullshit they are in that they primarily benefit the labels. And is this just more Japanese corporate bullshit? Not really. Again, record companies are bigtime scumsuckers. Even bigger when they're Western record companies.

I don't mean in the contract/company sense, but moreso in reference to some shit happening in her personal life. Past idol and all, I guess it doesn't really matter because she's actually dealt with some of this shit in the past, but she's mentioned on stream before that she feels like she really doesn't have much left in the way of actual friends, so having any of those lines blow up from drama could really dig into her.

Well my thought process was along the lines of:
- Gura has about 3 face pictures leaked, where most of her face is shown. Edit: Of which the validity of two of them is questionable.
- Some of the 'hags' have been around a lot longer than Gura
- Using Marine as an example, she has 6-7 face pics that float around, a few of them have filters/stickers obscuring things
- Given the time Marine has been active online the amount of face pics that have leaked are roughly proportional to Gura
- Other hags follow this trend though some have video of them
- I'm using the nip dox site as the basis for this, so there could be stuff I am not accounting for
Anyway, my point is that Gura's dox isn't special or bad by any metric. If I had to pick an EN girl who was the hardest done by I'd pick Ina, to my knowledge her facedox was based on posts by her family members and not by her own posts.

Thanks, this gives me plenty to think about. And I'm wi;lling to say that I might be wrong in my outrage and was wrong in thinking Gura was the one that people dug most to get the face of (tbh didn't know Ina was facedoxxed, probably because of how difficult that sounds, even the pic shown later on page was just a hand). I'll also admit I don't follow JP stuff nearly enough, since I don't watch them.

Also, that picture, lmao. Moving on finally. I feel I might've dragged this out too long, so, my bad if I did.

IIRC the first clue was someone doing a reverse image search on the picture from the Senpai Song, which gave them the artist's twitter account (which confirmed it was a commission for senzawa, and might have actually used the name Sena Howard), who was connected to the When Cutie Met Patootie project, which had a clip of her voicing one of the proposed characters, then one of the project's official people's twitters had posted the picture. I might be misremembering a couple details, but I know the Senpai Song commission post was the first big break.

It's great to see more interaction with Holostars and the main HoloLive branch. They are more isolated than HoloEN and really could use the boost that collabs give.
