Hey there, if you read the study carefully, you might notice that it says "same sex cohabiting women", not lesbian women, meaning that study could be saying exactly what you are saying; that either bisexual women get abused a lot by men, or that bisexual women who are abused by men are more likely to seek relationships with women after that. Also some lesbians try dating men before going out with women and once again the violence lesbians face could be coming from male partners so majority of those 43% very likely got beaten up by males sweatyLol, why are lesbian women shacking up with dudes? I thought they hated penis? It also reports that they're still less likely to report if the violence is done by another woman than a man.
It's higher in bisexual couples than any other demographic, and lesbians have a rate of around 43%. They liked to blame minority stress or internalized homophobia but hey, love is love!
edit2:
Section 28 or Clause 28[note 1] was a legislative designation for series of laws across Britain that prohibited the "promotion of homosexuality" by local authorities. Introduced by Margaret Thatcher's Conservative government, it was in effect from 1988 to 2000 (in Scotland) and 2003 (in England and Wales).
