What happened to Jazz was tragic, but who says we can't laugh at tragedy? Tragicomedy exists for a reason: sometimes the worst evil of the world is so absurd that you just can laugh. In the book, people do laugh at Carrie White during the prank because as cruel as it was, there is some funny aspect to it.

I’ve read this a dozen times now and can’t begin to fathom what the fuck you were trying to communicate. It’s like your brain had a dick in its mouth.

The schedule here is fuxxated unless that's Jazz's room in Mass, and they both look underdressed for November in Massachusetts. High 56, low 38? Definitely time for long sleeves, even indoors.

Meanwhile, the high today in Miami is 79 and the low is 72.

I suppose he could have ditched two days of class to fly home for the holiday, but that's a rookie move, especially a week before the end of class.

I don't like this.

He was just an effeminate kid (Jazz has admitted he was attracted to girls for a time but he doesn't actually have a libido thanks to the blockers so that could have been him looking for comfort).
We don't know what could have been as his brain isn't developed enough for a mature sexual relationship. Jazz is mentally stuck as a spoiled preteen and while his other siblings (minus Sander on his love quest) will likely have normal lives with their partners and start families, he will be the same. He could get yet another person that dates him for clout, one stunted in the same way, or a person that enjoys the power they have over them (getting with someone just like his mother).

I always wonder to what extent Jazz is aware of what exactly is causing his mental health problems. I actually suspect he does realize to some extent that he's unhappy with how he was trooned out, but also feels like he can never say it out loud, which causes more pain and frustration.

For one thing, he knows he'd just be dismissed if he expressed his feelings of regret about it to anyone. He knows they'd just say "Oh hey, that's just internalized transphobia, you just feel that way because the world is hard on trans people" then feed him some bullshit about how he's a proud beautiful woman who doesn't need to feel ashamed of his true self.

There is no room for doubt or regret with the trans true believers, there is very much a "if you think you might be, you are" mentality about it and any doubt gets chalked up to internalized transphobia.

Also I wouldn't be surprised if he blames himself a little, like "Well, I said I wanted this, I never said no, it's my own fault"
Such a fucked up situation, I can't imagine the mental anguish of carrying that around.

Something about " neurodiversity" and being PC, because being mentally ill means that you can cure someone out of their autism/ADHD/ADD by forcing them to take their meds or attending therapy that they hate as opposed to just giving them whatever they ask for. And it also implies a trip to the looney bin.
