I honestly do not understand why we, as a society. allowed this shit to go on, especially when Newark, Detroit, the black areas of LA, SF, NYC, Chicago and loads of other cities, were destroyed during similar riots in the 60s and to this very day have never come back and are miserable shitholes for the remaining people too poor to leave. It's not like everyone who was around at that time is dead and gone so why did no one stand up and say "This is a bad idea, look what happened sixty years ago to cities that were burned down during riots, they never came back".

That white people decided, directed and participated in demanding black people's homes and livelihoods should literally go up in smoke? To demonized anyone and everyone taking a stand against it? Apropos of nothing, but these cities being shitholes are also why I would prefer to live in a rural area in a midwestern red state than a heavily populated city in a blue state.

These cities are overcrowded shitholes filled with violent crime, are polluted to all holy hell, and just generally miserable places filled with deviants and obnoxious hipsters.

The rural areas I like? They are quiet, low key, peaceful, and look beautiful if you drive through them. Oh and whether or not I like the people in it is almost immaterial because these people would leave me the fuck alone.
