Which would just accelerate things. 2020 caused irreparable damage to faith in state institutions to protect society. A large segment of the population honestly believes that what happened was state backed political terrorism. Combine that with electoral malfeasance (or the belief in it), selective prosecutions with clear political bias, the implementation of the Patriot Act domestically, unrelenting lies and faction building by the State media and the COVID lockdowns? It's very reminiscent of the hatred stirred up by pro- and anti-abolitionist media and public figures before the war
Still people bitching on the internet is less impactful because there's a lack of immediate consequences. Idiots like us say things we'd never do and some of it probably wouldn't say when touching grass
If lots of people start getting killed in continuing political violence well the government will stop it and take a big jump in tyranny
The US government has already expended its trust and faith. They can go no further because nobody has faith in it anymore. Combine that with increasing regional factionalism, where some States are outright defying federal mandates and numerous Counties in liberal States are asking to secede to red states and things are getting bad.
And over it all is an unrelenting propaganda push by an increasingly deranged technocratic class and their pet media. These people have lost their minds. They are legitimately insane, and are screaming about "white people" the same way Hutus were shrieking about Tutsis in Rwanda. It may have started out as a cynical effort but they now honestly believe their own madness. The social media algorithms only further act to fuel their insanity.
It's not going to stop. Every single incident going foreword is going to be seen through the fun house mirror of clown world politics.
