Trainwreck Jill C Noyes Rodrigues / David Rodrigues / Rodrigues Family Ministries / Rodrigues Family Serving Jesus / All Things Truth Printing Ministry - Batshit MLM-shill narc mom of 13 starving children and her jobless "headship". Grifting and drifting across the US in an RV. Wanted by WV CPS.

I can't remember, did Jill or Goblins go to private or public school?

It always bothers me when fundies who had a traditional education try homeschooling and epically fail. Like didn't they see what happened to the idiots who did poorly in school? Of course she would never admit Tim was a wakeup call, as that assumes it was a wakeup call to begin with, and to get her kids education in order. But nope, half-ass education as long as it's Jesus! Is fiiiiine

My friends who work in schools say there's 3 grades of kindergarteners - the kinderbeaners, the first graders, and second graders, since covid shut down their schools and fucked everything up.

Can u imagine?

I bet Tim stuck out like a sore thumb, with his weird speech and seeming like he's a middle schooler in his affect. That and he had less education than a middle schooler. Yikes. I bet the college kids all assumed he was inbred.

David grew up secular, so he probably would have gone to public school. He found religion through a chick tract.

Here's the fun thing, I know Pensacola Christian college has it. They have a program where they will legit reteach you basic elementary school education. There's legit a class on how to add and subtract and multiple. Every incoming student has to take them if they don't past the entrance exams every freshman is required to take. They implemented it because fun fact, alot of homeschoolers have shit education. They're called 99 classes, so they're below freshman at college.

There is a English class that tells you what a noun is. The math class is basic elementary math.

Social issues aren't even a thing when you're surrounded by weird homeschoolers in drives. It's normal I you're all weird.

Jill has made them so afraid out of the outside world, it should be considered abuse.

this doesn't sound any different from regular community college though or from freshmen at a lot of 4 year colleges either. I just had to explain what a noun was to a bunch of undergraduates last week.

That's one of the most depressing things I've read this year.
Education in the US is horrible

It's been forgotten in the mists of time but the reasons so many people pulled their kids out of public schools in the 80s had way more to do with academics than with religion. The biggest thing people were mad about was when parents realized their local school district was going full speed ahead with whole language teaching and would not go back to phonics no matter how angry everyone was about it.

The high profile of the Duggars and people like them has created a very effective narrative that homeschooling = jean skirts tater tot casseroles and bad theology which covers up the more complicated fact that, also, homeschooling = general reaction to terrible educational policy and unresponsive schools.

so it's not that there aren't garbage homeschoolers out there because there really are, but isn't it funny how there's a crafted media narrative about bad homeschooling and not so much one about bad public schools, unless it's about how sad it is that black kids have to go there?

Maybe Tim googled his name or had someone at work show him this thread or the fundie snark subreddit. My theory is that he told Jill to get fucked and flounced out of there. The whole flowers from Timothy thing is clearly an attempt to make it seem like everything is normal.

Edit - some more thoughts. If Tim's working at a job where he interacts with other blue collar guys, he's going to be the butt of every joke once a coworker comes across Jill's insta or one of the various snark repositories. I think that Tim confronted Jill, angry about her chronicling his life on social media and she tried to tell him she does it for God or Jesus or whoever. Maybe he told her off for ruining his life with it, because she kinda has.

See, I don't think Tim is ever going to leave the nest. He had one chance but that fundie girl ran the opposite way once they saw what Jill was. Most fundies want their daughters to marry like semi successful men and show that they can support their baby factory broodmare daughters. Tim can't do that.

Like in general, a dude sitting on a rv/trailor on his parents land with a half done pilot degree isn't marriage material in alot of these religious circles. The only excuse they tend to make is for men about to become pastors, but even then, a pastoral aligned degree is gold. He's not pretty enough to slide on that, not ambitious enough, not charismatic enough for any fundie girl at the moment mostly because you generally have to impress the family. Have to have dad's approval. Good amount of these families will live on 1 income, so if you can't provide that, you're pretty much screwed.

They (Fundies) infuriate me. The kids never get to live a normal life. They aren't prepared to go out into the world.

I went down a rabbit hole about this "whole reading" thing, of which I was completely ignorant, and I am horrified. How sad for all those kids. It also seems like this policy created more "poor reader" adults right as social media exploded and text-based communication became a much bigger part of the average person's daily life.

I wonder if and how this correlates to misinformation and those super dumb fights you see online. Some of those fights are definitely better explained by both parties not being able to actually read, or who may be relying too much on predictive text, or speech to text, to make their posts. Although maybe there's no correlation since misinformation is a global problem, and Boomers are responsible for some of the dumbest arguments.

And now this cultural divide over home schooling is really sad. I vaguely remember in the 90s the stereotype of a homeschooled kid was very smart and academic, but socially naive and weird. It's upsetting that the narrative has shifted to homeschool = religious nuts and public school = great and fine, when there's still so many problems with the public school. I'm sure lots of people want to provide their kids a better education but, unlike Jill, know they don't have the skills or resources to do it at home. Sigh.
Back on topic, I certainly hope Tim is happy, healthy, and alive. I also wonder if Nurie will be allowed to stay home and rest and have Thanksgiving with her husband and maybe also his family, or if she is being required to schlep out to Jill's place.

I long for the day one of these kids can break free and tell their side of the story, like has happened with so many other fundie families. Of course, keeping the kids subliterate helps prevent that, so being subliterate herself while homeschooling was certainly a happy accident for Jill. Between that and the goblin being dumb enough to be converted by a chick track, their pamphlets must be unreadable dreck.

Reading really is power, kids.

Nurie and Nathan attended a fundie wedding, and are then making the trip to Ohio to spend the holiday with Jilldo and the rest of her family.

Nurie is required to schlep to her mother's for a mandatory visit; this is why the Rod boys are being pressed into urgent mandatory labor.

Meanwhile, Jill warns her followers of the dangers vaccines pose to your godly family. Her poor logic is proof positive that the Joyful Noyes Homeschool was an exercise in futility as far as education is concerned.

Ah, my apologies for not catching that. I admit to skimming sometimes, especially when I'm sleepy.

Has it occurred to Jill that the government is trying to protect other people's right to life by preventing ignoring fundies from spewing germs on them while out at non-essential events? I would think the right to life trumps the right to eat out or whatever without a vaccine. But of course to a narcissist only their rights matter, not other people's.

The "liberty for safety" quote also gets my hackles up, since the last time I heard it used this often was by the left after 9/11. I'd love to know what Jill thinks about security theater, racial profiling, stomping on privacy rights, and bombing civilian weddings.

Welp, if Jilldo is forcing Nathan and Nurie on a roadtrip to fucking Ohio from Florida for Thanksgiving (a holiday that is literally about cooking a bunch of food and eating with your family) then I hope Nathan makes his family stay home in Florida for Christmas.

Because it would be funny for me as Jill is probably one of those inlaws/grandparents that think that she gets all of the holidays.
