I don’t think Jack would ever consent to having his arm amputated, even if it was essential to his survival. It’d be admitting defeat and knowing that God won’t heal him. It could be gangrenous and literally killing him. He’d see it as a test of faith from God or something, so he’d decline surgery. And then he would die.
