A good example to look at for guidance in these matters are banks. They have hundreds of scammers trying to fool their customers for an actual payoff every single day.

They do two things:
1. They accept reports from customers and forward them to law enforcement, who can do something
2. They make it very clear that they will never ask for customer information in an email or on a phone call.

That's all VShojo needed to do. Forward complaints to the Feds and make it clear, that they would only contact applicants from a specific email with a specific domain.

If people are you using your company to do bad shit, you have to let people know you're not involved. home depot has notices saying "you can't pay your utility bill with home depot gift cards this is a scam." and the teller will stop you if you buy a bunch. Home depot makes money off the cards but they go out their way to warn people.

on the other hand, vtubers don't have the excuse the boomers have when it comes to scams.

a part of me wants to say "this happened because you're so eager to get famous". But i have a real job with real wages. maybe i'd jump the gun if i was a vtuber.

I think it's good she backed off, though she shouldn't have jumped on anyway. Melody seems to be handling things the best, saying nothing for now.
 
Is this the first time vshojo has acknowledged this is going on? Nux tweeted about it in October and claimed he alerted them. I haven't seen anything from vshojo before this though.

Vshojo can claim they were working behind the scenes and with law enforcement and whatever. But it is completely irresponsible if they never made a statement saying this was going on and how to determine a phishing email from a legitimate one from them. Especially that it seems they had to have their hand forced to make the statement a month later.

Nux had shit in the video that compromised whatever autistic illuminati shit you were doing, fine. But as far as I can see, you didn't even give the most basic alert to people.

He had an interview once talking about that, long before Vshoujo. It is literally how I found out about the guy because I was looking up Melody's issue. He seemed pretty pissed .

The Marine Corp was better at this then fucking Vshoujo; and they're retarded. Like they gave updates about phishing on the regular because it fucked people. . . and that is minus the swatting. When the Corp is better than you at anything related to care and well-being, you're fucked up.

Right, Vshojo, made up of a bunch of anime avatar twitch streamers and two internet old-boys they hired to handle merch and sponsorship should have done better with handling someone impersonating them than the Marine Corp, a branch of the US Military.
