So Comiket is really happening? i thought Japan were still very anal by the coof
apparently after the olympics they stopped give a fuck about public perception, started using horse paste and slowly moved on from the coof (while the rest of the first world starts doubling down because they like fucking up their economies so much). no idea if that's for most of japan or just certain parts tho.
I feel like a lot of people’s opinion on the whole mess lies more with how they feel about Vshojo in general rather than what’s actually going on.
I don't really care about either of them, but it's another prime example of >envtuber
what it comes down to is this:
it doesn't really matter who is wrong or right or whatever, I just look at the conduct so far and it's clear vshojo still has a long way to go if they want to play in the big leagues (oh right, they're just "bunch of anime avatar twitch streamers and two internet old-boys they hired to handle merch and sponsorship" who still somehow have a CEO and a "cybersecurity expert"). who the fuck thinks size or origin is relevant when it comes to acting professionally?
in a short few days we got
- murky "official" statements
- unnecessary overly long statements
- talent throwing shit on twitter
- talent getting personal on twitter
- public slapfights
- apparently hardly any measures to prevent this from happening before and since.
why do you think any company or group worth it's salt shuts the fuck up when shit happens and at best releases a nondescript statement without blaming anyone specific while handling things non-publicly?
furthermore why could the culprits in question even get their hands on a big TLD with a vshojo name (as in, why hasn't vshojo already claimed the important ones themselves?) where's the advisory how and when contacts will happen? where's the notice when shit went down (either may or october)?
trying to be a "official" for that merch and sponsorships comes with certain responsibilities, you can't just put up a website and call it a day. and even more importantly is
they simply need to be above it and shut the fuck up. the bigger you become the more leeches and attention you get, which you have to ignore most of the time, react appropriately when necessary. unless they learn that basic lesson and get some fucking common sense it will keep other companies and people from working with them, especially nip corps. but sure, keep reacting like a retarded zoomer on social media and see how it's gonna work out.
