I think you could actually make a serious argument for that. Most people wouldn't get into anime and manga if they had to pay the exorbitant prices some services want. A lot of people who pirate then go on to buy the physical mangas for stories they really like, or they buy other merchandise.

I almost want this shitshow to be renewed for a second season just to see how much further this shit show can go and for me and my friends to have a bad cartoon viewing night planned out with no fuss. Keyword here being almost since fuck crunchyroll for deceiving the weebs with this trash and treating them as being as retarded as them and the troglodytes behind this CALarts-Tumblr lovebaby abortion of an """anime-inspired""" show. If you want to make your own original series, fine. But for the love of christ be honest with your intentions and don't treat your audience like idiots cause that's the perfect way to piss them off. See netflix's castlevania for example with the horse shit they pulled off that's a spit in the eye to both the fans of the games and to the lore of the franchise as a whole.

Slightly off-topic-ish.

My personal thoughts on why Snapdragon is considered the best character in this shitshow because there was a fragment of a halfway decent character there alongside a character arc with him being insecure that he's a girly boy instead of the macho manly man that his dad and brother is. Had Professor Self-Insert just said "dude, just cause you're a girly boy doesn't change the fact that you're still a man" then it would have been a pretty good message about how just because you deviate from the societal norms of your gender, doesn't make you any less of a boy or a girl. But then they wouldn't have that child grooming egg/transgender rep, now would they?

Also, the fact that despite claiming to be fans of a medium that have a lot of effeminate pretty boys just being men yet claim that effeminate men are actually closeted transwomxn or some other flavor of kweer shows how little they understand the thing they claim to be diehard fans of and how regressive these loons are. God damn it people, just because a man's prettier than most women and acts girly doesn't mean he's trans or gay. Why can't we let bishounens just be bishounen?

Personally I feel that Snapdragon is not seen as the best character but moreso that the messaging is off, especially since it feels really tone deaf ad for being a progressive show, they do like to stick to gender norms by implying men with girly habits are trans. Like woke morons have shown for decades they misunderstand this shit (prime example being any of the lgbt discourse regarding Persona 4 characters).

Honestly I've seen more people praise the mean purple haired girl and edgelord murder man as the best character only because they're both cartoonishly evil that it becomes funny.

Those two are also unintentionally hilarious to watch because of that and when that purple haired chick's introduction came up, i had to stop watching for a moment because of how hard i was laughing due to how ham-fisted it was. Honestly, the three of them should get their own show and it would be a lot more entertaining to watch a regular effeminate man fighting of fujo troons while dealing with his cartoon villain friends. There's comedy gold to be made there with that stuff!

I'm not going to watch this stupid gay show but I find it amusing from reading this thread that apparently the best character in the girl power anime is also the only male character (troons and strawman antagonists excluded)

I've never played the games but I'm quite disappointed with how that show ended, I get the sense several things went wrong if they had to abort several major character arcs and had threats like Carmilla resolve themselves after two-ish seasons of build up.

The games are amazing with a kickass soundtrack. Highly recommend getting into them via Aria of Sorrow and playing it's sequel Dawn (although that touch screen gimic can burn in hell) since that's was my gateway into the games.

Back on topic: Crunchyroll is a bunch of hacks and High Guardian Spice is an affront to animation and to art in general and I would not have sex with it.

One thing that really bothers me about this show is the ginger kid subplot. Like he was bullied for not being manly and feels inferior about his own masculinity compared to his family. The show basically gives a bad implication that men who aren’t masculine enough should become trans and the fact Raye’s self insert encourages this just is wrong. It doesn’t help this literally does not fix any of ginger kid’s insecurities at all.

She did not like it lol. And pointed out that there is, indeed, Scarborough Fair references.

EDIT: Also she liked Snapdragon and wished he'd be in a better show as well as written much better. Even says that if the show wanted to bring up transgenderism, it should've saved it for when Snapdragon talked to the professor about it instead of first revealing it to Rosemary whom ended up doing nothing with the information anyway.

Seems like that's the general consensus going around in that Snapdragon really did deserve better.

So, according to this show, transing out is an easy escape from your problems than try to work out a less life-threatening method of getting one over your bullies.

What exactly is Snapdragon's appeal?

1. Thin lean non-offensive protag sterotype you see in these kinds of shows aimed at girls.

This really is a lesson for many hacks out there that just because you say you are empowering transpeople or women, does not mean they will automatically like your crap. So many idiots who do this sort of writing in how they brag about Trans or Female representation, seem to forget that they are people just like anyone else. Sure there are twitter morons who would lap this all up but Twitter is mostly full of dumb kids and emotionally stilted manchildren which don't make up entire groups of people.

Someone rewrote both "trans" scenes in HGS.

I've only saw the first one and admittedly, i really like how they've done it because there's an actual emotional connection and Professer Ebony Darkness Dementia Raven Way has a bit more of a personality and humanity outside of TRANS REPRESENTATION PLZ VALIDATE ME.

The one thing that I would have changed, which is admittedly more of a world-building thing, is probably if Professor Raven Way said that "transition magic which is a branch of new magic is very risky. However, this was something I was willing to go under and for x amount of time, I was bedridden and felt like death" to make the transitioning metaphor ring more true with how HRT can jack women up due to how females are more sensitive to hormonal changes. With the added bonus that there's a massive drawback to this seemingly OP and limitless magic system that any schmuck could use to balance out the new vs old magic system.
