Yeah, fair point. I like shorter guys and I don't care about weight. I guess it's because I'm against superficiality as to why I never factored his looks, but I guess it's fair to say that it's mainly his psychological problems. I mean, Chris is autistic. He could find another autistic girl, felt like it wouldve been easier.
To be honest finding an autistic girl is probably more difficult since it's more prevalent in males than females and autistic girls are generally more likely to be shut-ins because whilst they may have an interest in having a boyfriend, they would feel the interaction to be too socially demanding whereas autistic men like Chris might feel some societal or parental pressure like they're not a real man for not having a girlfriend and see putting the effort in as having the added effect of status.
I don't know if it's like how it was in the 1990s if girls are pressured by their peers to have boyfriends as a status symbol, but I am pretty sure parents of an autistic girl would probably prefer her to be a bit of a shut in out of fear of her getting taken advantage of, whereas an autistic boy's parents wouldn't have that same fear and would see him getting involved in a relationship as a sign that he's "improving".
And like Hogar said, Chris wouldn't want to go out with someone who had autism because he felt like they were drooling retards even though he himself was one. Now that didn't mean he wouldn't be interested in a girl who wasn't labelled as autistic, but by all other accounts is, I think that Chris just didn't really come across a lot of women like that in his day to day life.
I don't really go to comic conventions, and maybe my interests are generally more masculine oriented anyway, but the last time in my entire life I met a girl who was autistic was when I was in high school many years ago. I wouldn't even know how Chris would really stumble into one let alone focus exclusively on autistic girls.
