General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Is CodeMiko classified as a vtuber? She feels more like a unintentional "anti-vtuber" with her style of content. Not that I mean that in a bad way, she's just over there doing her own passively cursed thing.

I'm glad to see she blew up tho. I used to watch her back when she was at about ~50 viewers on twitch having 3D sausages tossed at her for money. Then I forgot about her and checked back recently and now she's in the several thousand viewer range and is collabing with other big twitch streamers

Looking at upcoming streams. Kronii has the Frostpunk DLC scheduled. I know a lot of holomems played Papers Please - are there any VTubers who play other "moral choice" games like This War of Mine, Beholder, Gods Will Be Watching, etc.?

She is considered a Vtuber. The issue with Miko is that no one here really watches her streams so any discussion about her devolves to "her model is cool" or "all she does is interview Twitch randos"

Last i saw of her she was hanging around with Sweet Anita (the chick with Tourettes).

IIRC, she, like Melody, was doing her thing before "vtuber" was really a word, and obviously she uses different tech than the standard Live2D stack (and isn't hiding her IRL identity). I think she counts, though.

BECAUSE
"all she does is interview Twitch randos"
She doesn't really game much, interviews randos and after a while that kind of content is just stale as fuck. At least change it up for a bit. A lot of times, her streams feel very mailed in. Especially once you get past the novelty of how advanced/cool her model is.

From my understanding, its more because she's not really a full time (or atleast very focused) streamer. IRL she has a stable income as an engineer doing mocap stuff, and Codemiko persona is more of her proof of concept to show off.

She wouldn't really bother nor care too much about numberfagging. Some additional revenue, recognition, and connections are really enough for her.

Well earlier Crunchyroll announced they were doing an interview with Silvervale and my god that quote.:story:

Eh, just about usual sign-off time, so it's for the best.
Her blood pressure was going off the charts.

Man she must be committing sacrifices to the wrong blood gods or something. The game breaking was bad but OBS dying was just being kicked while down. Honestly though it was probably better for it to end because she was going to have an aneurysm.

I maintain french toast superiority.

So I somehow am just now watching the chess match between Gura and ame and it is physically painful because there was a point in the match where Gura could have ended the whole thing in like 3 moves and Ame wouldn't have been able to do shit because each move would have required her to move another piece lmao

Haven't finished it yet still hoping for an upset

Ollie runs in fear of her chat
So much cursed knowledge in one clip
Watching a podcast livestream called After Hours (RFCAH; AugieRFC).
According to Flamenco he reached out to IronMouse and they worked things out. He claims she even called her dog avatar cute. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUje5BE18lM&t=5280s (the Nux coverage lasts 23 min, if you want to critique how little it's talked about)
Good to hear he rectified that lunacy
So what ended up happening with Nux? You guys really should divide this thread up into a thread for each sect of Vtubing because you post like 100 pages a day and no one can keep up with all this shit.

Last I saw, Ironmouse posted an apology tweet. Is that the end of this saga?
I sent you a dm with what is basically the entire drama detailed from Mousey's pov

https://kiwifarms.net/posts/10598701/ but for good measure here it is above

If the internet was real life, "VTubers" could do stuff like play vidya on a theater stage.

How crowded the theater could get would depend on how popular they are.

They’re already doing interviews at cons. It’s not impossible to do theater shows.

While I don't think they have any active translators at the moment, just noticed highlights of VTA's debuts got translated; as a reminder, Virtual Talent Academy is Anycolor/Nijisanji's take on a Vtuber version of comedy/idol/talent agency schools (ex. Yoshimoto New Star Creation), where they select a few candidates, cover their tuition and a basic PNGtuber setup, then train them at the studio on top of weekly 30-minute stream relays. While they don't necessarily have to go to Nijisanji afterwards, it's looking they might've gotten themselves their eleventeenth APEX monster.

>a crowded opera house
>the lights dim
>the curtains rise
>the audience applauds as a violet-haired catgirl walks on stage
>after doing her usual intro she starts playing Donkey Kong 64 on a huge screen
Isn't that literally what Shinya Arino did for Gamecenter CX, only a Vtuber version? https://archive.org/details/e72f8ec2512539ae1c469e916bff70b5
