XenForo has revoked our license

I'd already decided to try and learn Python for a private business venture, but now I'm looking at Rust... FOR THE MOTHERLAAAAND.

Although I had thought that Rust was already kinda compromised by tranny jannies trying to assert themselves over the actual developers of the language. Tho I suppose it shouldn't make that much of a difference, once you have the software and know the language... You can't really have it taken from you. Especially if it's FOSS.

Rust development team is extremely tranny janny compromised.

The language is great but that would have me worried about learning the language if the long term prognosis is not good.

Also it's a memory-safe low-level language. It is an utterly terrible choice for building web sites. It's like buying a truckload of aluminum stock to build a hot rod with.

Reading between the lines Null is going to write something for the media handling side of the site which is compatible with the existing software. I guess? I don't know... Null - you going to make this open source so we can peer over your shoulder and annoy you with comments? Or is this going to be kept private and we annoy you with questions?

It won't be public for a while but chances are people helping me would really want it to be foss. License concerns would come later when there's actually an mvp.
Do you _know_ rust, C, or ASM?

Because I would expect 5-10 years of senior level experience to even get started on a project like a web forum built with a low-level language.

At least be honest with yourselves cry about being slaves to capitalism and how your boss needs you to right 20 extra stupid fucking terrible widgets that fly across the monitor while exploding with comical farting animations at 8 frames a second. Taking hundreds of megs of RAM in the meantime, pinning an entire core for itself.

That being said, what's the difference between Swift and Rust?
one is switfy and the other is rusty.
rust seems like such a cool/powerful language glad to see its getting more market shares
it's kind of recent and was born because some nigger wanted to reinvent the wheel, but rounder! again, although he has a point because rust is meant to replace php.
I'd just like to hear the exact reasoning behind it.
Null did say it was to cause mass butthurt though.
Lol, just saying, Rust is hard mode on a level that I can not even comprehend and I've been building web applications professionally for over a decade. I do not even remotely have what it takes to pull it off.
do you have rust's documentation? null is asking for devs that know where to find that goddamned thing, i don't think even the creator knows where it is.
jokes aside null can sort of pull it off but then again all he needs to do is just properly orient the autism beam emanating from within his development team or else it might implode his project.

"If you are a Rust developer interested in writing forum software with me, please get in contact and provide some examples of your work. We are currently using Actix, Diesel+PgSQL, and Askama for templating."

It sucks not being able to help you in some way other than monetarily, poverty sucks.

It's not about rust being difficult, it's about what benefit does it bring when a lot of the performance comes down to efficient database design/accesses and load balancing, not the language of the backend. Moving a lot of data around is not a CPU bound thing - well I guess profile before optimizing is the golden rule.

u mad?

Lol I work for a commodity wholesaler and before that I worked in manufacturing so the only widgets I'm fuckin with go into a box and get shipped.

You live in a world where it's acceptable for a trivial transaction to take multiples of seconds. Do you need Grace Hopper to literally rise from the grave and give you the speech about wastefulness?

WEB DEVS = GO DIRECTLY TO PRISON

stop replying to obvious bait posts. it's just as annoying as the posts you're replying to

the word widget is funny tho

but why though.
Crimes against humanity. Conspiracy to degrace society through mediocrity and wastefulness. You take the collective amount of time web developers have wasted in terms of user-hours it is essentially genocide. The reason this is so morally bad is because everyone knows how bad it is, or rather think that the mediocrity is okay. The most self-aware webdevs will admit to you, they don't care, they only care about time to market. They know the vast majority of users are nigger cattle, and that's how they're treated. Web developers are essentially the same as mobile app developers. They are predatory scum making genocide-ware that holocausts man-hours in their ReactJS ovens.

@Null

BTW this should remove the notice. I can't actually test without EFFORT, but I'm like 90% sure:

.xb-page-wrapper::after { background-image: none!important; }

The filename they used for the notice is 'kek'. Faggots.

Also I STRONGLY suggest you suss out what script that have running on your server that is pinging their shit and remotely executing code and rip it out or firewall it. They've already proven they are willing to tamper with third-party websites they do not operate so it seems like a security risk to let that keep happening. I would additionally recommend paying your lawyer $250 to write a cease-and-desist telling them in no uncertain terms that they are not to tamper with your site or execute code remotely on your servers in any way. They are still gonna do whatever they are gonna do, but it's a cheap way to start building a paper trail in case you ever needed to deal with them in a courtroom.
c'mon, fam. I suggest you read the OP. Even I only fell for it for a short time just after Null put it up.
