Was this related to the video where she said it was a travesty that a surgeon sent a patient's removed breast tissue to pathology to be tested for cancer? I remember thinking it was very odd that the surgeon would test the breast tissue from a young, healthy woman in any case (though the patient mentioned in another exulansic video that she's Ashkenazi Jewish, so that might be part of the reason why). But I also thought it was strange that exulansic went off so hard on the surgeon for sending the tissue on the slight chance that the patient would be misdiagnosed with cancer and then sent for treatments that were destructive. Surely she's overstating the risk of the patient ultimately being harmed by the tissue being tested?

As much as exulansic makes blisteringly good observations- and she truly does- one must remember that she falls into the category of "ex-troon who publicly lambasts transgenderism."
It's tricky, because on one hand, who better to do so than an apostate? And after all, shouldn't ex-troons try and undo the damage they've done? They have insider knowledge too, right?

This is all true. At the same time, so often, detransitioners who take to public platforms are still working through the same stuff that made them troon out in the first place. So often, they're still in the same "arc."

God bless them for being strong enough to resist, leave the hugbox, walk away from sunk costs, and live a real life. But it doesn't mean that whatever made them get into genderism is resolved. You can see that exulansic still has some of the same neurotic academic brainworms that led her to troon out in the first place.

You can't get asthma from being fat; it's essentially an autoimmune disorder. Shortness of breath from being a fatty may have external similarities but I think that's more of a circulatory breakdown. Like oxygen isn't getting to all the tissues easily so they feel oxygen starved but it's not a lung problem per se unless it gets to semi-chronic pneumonia time. Apnea also factors in.

Also, wrt to the family dynamics, in my mom's generation there were two girls and two boys. One of the boys was deathly ill when he was four, like they thought he was going to die. He got bombarded with presents in the hospital and all the other kids were jealous and didn't really understand. He recovered but he was still very much coddled by my grandmother in particular.

Growing up, this kid could do no wrong. He was the favorite and everyone knew it. Like one time he got in an argument with my aunt and he punched a hole in the wall and my aunt was blamed because she provoked him.

Even today, most of the cousins including his own kid (!) think he's a massive asshole, but his own siblings do not have the incredibly cynical view that the younger generation has. Like even my aunt makes excuses for him while at the same time telling stories about them growing up that sound like total poison to me.

I can see the Bloshinsky family being like that, where Jazz's siblings are too close to Jazz, Jeanette, and the whole situation to understand how fucked up the whole thing is. I'm not saying that Jazz is an intentional asshole towards everyone around him, but like my uncle, people treat him like he is weak, and if you're treated like you're weak your whole life, you never get strong.

100% this was me watching the episode. That first part where they're talking about Jazz's mental health and they're showing clips of jazz freaking out and crying, all I could think about was how they knew jazz wasn't and didn't want to be trans.

Edited to add: I mentioned Dr. James Ronald Brown in a previous post, and it got me thinking. He was called "Butcher Brown" in certain trans circles, and several of his transwomen victims tried to testify against him and warn others about him. Despite this, transwomen still sought him out. I'm mentioning this because I could see Jazz becoming an advocate against "affirmative care" after the devastating effect it's had on him. But I could also see his warnings falling on deaf ears.

I really like her comparisons of the troon cult to organised religion, I think she's spot on there and I never realised just how much religious lingo and concepts the troon lobby uses. Right, her comparisons are totally apt, but it's sort of like 300-level stuff, not Tranny Nonsense 101. I definitely recommend the Linehan podcast--her episode and overall.

The Jazz videos are good, though, because the show itself is so horrific and doesn't need as much critique once someone bluntly acknowledges how fucked up the situation is and that it's OK to reject the pseudoscientific trans kid narrative.

I'm new to KF, although I've read it off and on over the years, and I don't watch television, so I was unaware of the "vaginal" and weight-related issues surrounding this poor kid. Another side effect of prednisone use is “Cushings syndrome” where excessive weight gain and bloating happen on the face abdomen, and causes other issues within the body.

Earlier in the thread I saw some saying they found Jazz's therapy requirements and so on unusual. They aren't. I have work experience at an Ivy, and the process is pretty much this:

School: You are obviously fucking up. Your behavior is abnormal/alarming/against code & policy/ What's the issue?

Student: Excuse 1, Excuse 2, Excuse 3 etc.

School: We're very sorry to hear that. In order for your transcript not to be ruined and for you to get the help you need, why don't you take a leave of absence?

Student: YES!

School: We don't want to be the cause of any suffering in your life, so before you return, we want to make sure you've tackled what you need to tackle. To address Excuse 1, show us you did A, for Excuse 2, B and for Excuse 3, C.

Whatever Jazz told them/did points towards serious mental health issues. The therapist typically issues a letter that simply states something like:

"Jazz Jennings has been a patient of mine from X date to Y date. We have addressed many concerns. In my professional opinion she has greatly improved and is able to complete the duties expected of her."

If she said she had substance abuse issues, they would ask for a letter from an organization or individual that deals with those issues. If it's medical, a doctor would sign off on it.

This is to cover the university as well. If Jazz returns and commits suicide, they can easily say a therapist cleared her to be here, a work supervisor wrote she was ready and so on. I've seen people referred for anger management and even sex addiction. What is unusual is that Jazz is at this point already. Normally a student was allowed one major round of fuckups followed by a "do better and reach out to us if you can't handle it" letter. Jazz hasn't had finals as far as I know, so that makes me think a professor of hers noted something weird and told the school they should reach out to Jazz (always missing classes, clearly emotionally disturbed, etc). The alternative is Jazz herself reached out, which most students never do because after making it to such an elite school they normally want to stay the course, but as we all know Jazz has none of that grit and pride in her education.

I'm still 20 pages behind so my apologies if this has already been clarified.

Jazz doing anything close to what Keira Bell did would shatter the narrative, for sure. But I think Jazz is in the kind of situation that German foster kids were when the government was placing them in the homes of pedophiles. They were not angry for a very long time. They were just emotionally shut down and stunted. Even now, only one or two of them will speak out about it. Others cannot separate their childhood "families" from the abuse they went through by everyone in authority around them.
