The thing is, the japs knew that "Idol" is allowed to do some weird shits, just look at the peak years of AKB and co. The problems are, the EN management doesn't know that, thinking "Idols" must be pure and seiso. And then, there's also the changing of perception of what are "Idols" themselves due to the influence from Korea, and this also affects Japan who must adapt to the pressure. Korean idols are, though also allowed to do some weird shits, tend to be more seiso due to the culture and nature of their industry.
Yeah, the idea that idols are just seiso childhood friend type girls who never say or do anything risque is long since outdated. That is the standard in the industry but there have been idols who go against the grain for decades, and many of them became very successful.
I wouldn't say Yagoo is wrong in calling Hololive an idol agency, because there are some very big similarities to how vtuber agencies and idol agencies work in terms of cultivating fans.
