Phil learned it from his parents. He didn't learn how to ride a bike because a black person would steal it. Who do you think put that idea into his head?
I naturally don't like taking Phil at his word, especially when he's explaining something he doesn't do, because he's both a liar and lazy. And refuses to be honest about being lazy.

Then there's the obvious pattern in his life of absorbing "wisdom" from inappropriate sources, like TV. That doesn't paint a picture of someone who listened to their parents whether they were imparting legit wisdom or encouraging him to be as prejudiced as they are. Doesn't stop him from blaming them for anything he didn't already know, but you'll notice he doesn't go out of his way to really BITCH about them screwing him in that regard, nor does he deliberately try to skirt his racist tendencies by throwing his parents under the bus. He just accidentally makes himself, and possibly his parents, look like stupid assholes.

And lastly, his high school years make it pretty clear, from what I can tell, that Dave and Linda didn't need to put any ideas in his head about dark-skinned people. His insecurities surely had him scared shitless of the tall athletic intimidating black guys at school for years, and that is probably more responsible for his racist habits than anything else. At least when it comes to the few remarks he makes that sound like contempt, which usually sound like him just being the asshole he is towards people, not deliberately an entire ethnicity. He gets triggered by Japanese stuff because of his FGC experiences, for example, not because he really hates Asians.

Phil does plenty of things seemingly out of not knowing any better, but you'll notice that when you try to correct him, you don't get anywhere with it. That means ignorance isn't the real cause. Using the n-word or the r-word is clearly one of those things he does on a regular basis off-camera, because that's who he is, and only acts otherwise out of fear. The Patreon videos he stopped doing prove that, he let his hair down a bit and that's what came of it. God only knows what he would say if he got absolutely hammered on stream.
I find it interesting how his biggest spergouts about something usually don't occur immediately the same day or day after, but after a few weeks or in some cases several months. You can tell this kind of shit lives rent free in his head and he lets it stew for a long time.
I chalk this up to him coming face-to-face with the fact that when he memory-holes something, the world doesn't usually play along with him, and we know how he is about both not getting his way AND being reminded that he did something he never truly atoned for.

Sometimes I wonder if there's a part of him today that recognizes just how much red is in his ledger after so many years of being a bad person who insists on getting with it forever, and it exponentially enhances his fear of ever breaking down and letting himself have it because of the sheer amount. I mean just imagine a "I AM a pigroach and I'm sorry" stream. Imagine how long that would take, how many things he would have to address with total honesty, because we're talking literally his entire lifetime's worth of bad deeds, since that's how long he has been refusing to admit fault or guilt.

That would kill a man much stronger than he has ever been.
Just to further cement this:
  • Booker T calls Hulk Hogan a nigga not nigger. This clip has been famous for decades and for some reason Phil uses the Hard R. I haven't watched wrestling in over 15 years and even I remember Booker T using nigga.
  • One of Phil's most used (and over used) catchphrases is I'M COMIN' FOR YOU. Which is what Booker T says right before the calling Hogan a nigga.
  • Why does DSP use the I'm comin' for you if the sentence has one of those mean racial slurs? Way to be an ally Phil.
Booker T clip:
What I find especially interesting about Phil and the n-word is that it obviously comes naturally to him to use "nigger", not the form he would've heard from blacks themselves all throughout the 90's. That suggests that it's not from it rubbing off.

But what's even more interesting is that he finds it (and all his other racist remarks) funny, he never seems to say such things out of hatred. This is why I think it's more of a habit he developed as a young lad, a tick of his that, like all his others, he just doesn't want to let go of. He is, after all, the guy who still loves poop humor, and I dare say he would hear just as much racist shit from him every stream as we do talk of feces if it didn't risk getting him canceled. Not out of truly disliking non-whites (we know he doesn't like people in general), but out of being incredibly immature, insensitive towards others, and stupid.

When Phil says nigger, he gets rightfully mocked. All he had to do was be a Japanese girl and people would have laughed WITH him.
Saying nigger isn't that big of a deal contextual or accidental. Phillium makes it a big deal because in reality he never said nigger and if you say otherwise your an idiot detractor out to slander him. Sounds good? Okay

I don't know if I'd really count misspeaking as saying the n-word, I know it's fun to point and laugh but really the funny part is how DSP reacted after saying it instead of just owning that he made a mistake.

Now if you really want to see Phil saying nigger in a video that has been up on youtube for 11 years so far, here's your link:

This should also answer anyone's questions of "Will DSP be punished for this????". That answer is a hard no because youtube clearly doesn't care if they let him leave the above video up.

It’s taken out of context though - as much as I would love for Phil to get the banhammer, I don’t think he should be punished for taking it out of context. It’s the type of pointless censorship I wouldn’t want to see good content creators go through.

Would be nice to see Phil get kicked off of youtube though - that would be funny as he tries to figure out where to go. He lives on the internet so it’s almost like watching someone become homeless as they look for some halfway house.

Well would you look at this. I guess the farts were right about the animations being stolen.

Edit: O god damn it. Sorry for being late:\

i never thought he'd stole them, but assumed he would have just used a basic phone app or something to faceswap out of preset vids, like that wombo ai thing that was a fad awhile back on twitter

the fact that he just took them from somewhere else makes it even fucking funnier

One thing about this that doesn't sit right is that when I watch the "holiday special" in that playlist it seems to be missing the specific footage from the animations.

For example, here's the jingle all the way scene from said video (timestamped 6:55):
In this scene it doesn't show the part of the clip that made it into the animations. So, I don't think his animations were taken from these videos which leaves a lot of questions, the first one that comes to mind is: Did LightsydePaul make DSP's new animations? Because they look a lot like his deepfakes but are using footage that only he would potentially have from them. Don't get me wrong, totally possible someone was just inspired by those deepfakes or that the technique produced a similar result, but still, it's a little sus.

If I'm wrong and the clips from his animations are somewhere in one of the other videos let me know. Watching through that whole video I couldn't find any of the clips DSP is currently using for animations and watching through one deepfake nostalgia ruining nightmare was enough for me.

I don't know what Phil is worse at: feigning ignorance or faking expertise. But both help cement my theory that he's bad at lying because his brain is too aware of the truth to let him sell any of his bullshit. What he really knows ALWAYS manages to slip out and get in the way of him looking convincing, whether it's like this clip, or more like when he tries to educate people and his limits wind up on full display anyway.

As for Phil getting in trouble, despite his obvious fear of getting canceled for being the offensive shithead he is, the pigroach is not going to be flirting with disaster unless he somehow manages to get YouTube itself in the spotlight in a bad way, forcing them to demonetize his channel to save their own ass. Good luck with that happening, because Phil is thoroughly irrelevant these days, and his "efforts" to change that aren't likely to work, ever.

That said, if his drinking during the day gets worse, we'll likely still at least get to enjoy watching him let loose with his real self and then engage in pathetic panicky damage control. That's always a good time for us.

The best part about this is you know that DSP genuinely thought his tactfully crafted Philzenegger joke was going to be extremely hilarious as he thought of it.
It was so hilarious that he made the same joke earlier during the "Prestream Podcast" and laughed at his own joke.
