Based on my experience with talking with them both. There were times Pam could semi-coherently (for her) hold a conversation for few posts. I have never seen Ashley be able to do that.

Pam has some knowledge in few areas that interest her (conspiracy theories, celebrity gossip, maybe history and Bible but with her own interpretation) and was able to hold a conversation about those for a few posts. Reverted to Harveys and Richies after that.
The easiest way to have a conversation with Mel was to disagree with her impolitely - she likes to argue and can stay on topic for a few posts. Reverted to #HASHTAGs and copy-pasted responses after that.
Ash posts rants and when her claims are challenged she reverts to monosyllables or karlposting.
