Those would make better merch, even if nobody would know what it is from.
I get strange looks sometimes when people realize I always seem to be wearing "plain" shirts that don't have corporate logos, pithy slogans, basic-bitch "shock" messages, pop-culture images, etc. Instead, I just wear solid colors or patterns. It's fucking weird that people consider that "bland" now simply because I'm not a walking billboard.
Because these aren't strangers, they're colleagues and friends who follow up those strange looks with direct questions once it dawns on them that I never advertise name brands on my clothes.
That's the best kind of merch. When you get bored of the source material, you'll probably still enjoy that discreet piece of merch for what it is.
I'm actually going to be getting a few of the things and I'm extremely thankful.

Granted marvel(Disney) as well as a few other media companies have been literally taking every excuse to delay shit since corona hit. If it's a strike causing a delay it's not the same thing but it's another reason for them to go and claim something can't be released yet. Remember how fucking Black widow kept getting delayed despite being finished before eventually getting dumped on disney plus and being a mediocre ass marvel movie after allt he hype around the delays? Remember how The last of us 2 kept getting delayed and the whole fucking finished game leaked online months before release? I can see why and how people would be starting to get fucking fed up with this shit, but yeah it's dumb to solely focus on the marvel movies here in terms of news of media industry strikes. Big companies have been delaying shit for dumbass reasons. halted production due to a strike actually makes more sense than "uhh well pandemic despite the media being digital and everyone working from home uhhh nope can't release it, sorry!"
I think you're getting confused on what a consoomer actually is because I don't think any you've mentioned fit, so of course most people would consider them fine. Consoomerism is linked with mass overconsumption where it is either getting into or already into hoarding territories. You're looking at massive collections of things with not much thought put into curation (which is something you need with large collections along with nice was of displaying it) and lots of buying for the sake of buying. A pro gamer would be a consoomer if he decked out his entire 'gaming room' with razer merch to show off or boasted about his g-fuel collection. Someone being very good at something like gaming and taking it to the professional level is not consoomerist in itself.
I think for some people it makes it easier for them to get a 'feel' for a person depending on what kind of clothes they wear, makes it easy to strike up a conversation or realize someone has a shared interest. Can't say the same for brand logo stuff, but at least for pop-culture I've had many a nice conversation started based solely on a persons shirt, it's not always the sign of a massive consoomer. Also great in know who to steer clear of when out in public.

I miss my plain shirt clothes. I bought a bunch of plain colour shirts from Primark, probably for around £5 each and they've lasted for 11 years to the point the material started to wear out.
I still remember the one time someone commented on a shirt was wearing that had a logo on it. It was in a local convenience store, he offered a high five and i did it. It was a really funny and awkward exchange because at first i didn't even know he was talking to me. He just like said the name of the character that's logo was on my shirt and I though he was talking about some other shit to someone else but no, he was looking at the shirt. This was a years ago and I have never run into the guy again since, kinda wonder who he was and how the fuck I've never seen him again in that place before or after. He clearly was not on any sort of trip and seemed to be from the same area I live in which makes it even weirder. Somehow I don't think consoomers have had experiences like this. Just a hunch, no real evidence they don't.
If you think that's insane, I can pull out a used copy of Super Mario Bros for the NES with a ¢39 sticker from GameStop.

Damn, 39 cents? Never in my fucking life have I seen a game that cheap, used or new. Fucking wild. Reminds me of weird shit that happened back in like I think 2019 or 2018. I saw a shitload of copies of SMB3, both new in box or loose/used in various conditions at a thrift store. Wasn't goodwill, it was one of the other ones. They were cheap-ish at like the 15-ish dollars mark but I didn't feel the need to buy any. The things were gone the next time I went there and I'm guessing either a scalper/flipper bought them all or people just fucking jumped at the chance for Mario bros 3. I have no clue how in the fuck the the place ended up with that many copies of a single NES game, there's been similar shit at that place over the years liek the time they had a fuckload of used original Xboxes on the back shelf i never bought. People must've bought the things eventually because those are also long gone. Things didn't even have cables or controllers, just the fucking box and nothing else.
