If I know one thing about ferrets, it's that they are horrifically expensive animals to keep. You pay more for a ferret than a lot of people have to spend in a cat's entire lifetime. They imprint on food so if they imprint on swanky ferret kibble, you're going to have to keep shelling out for that stuff because ferrets can and do literally starve themselves to death if their preferred kibble isn't offered, screw your new lower budget. They require implants when they're young and need to be desexed. They're prone to a bunch of expensive medical problems and since they're obligate carnivores (like cats) they need a diet rich in raw meat and organs and that can be very pricey too. It can be extra expensive to find an exotics vet who is knowledgeable about ferrets.
Kevin and Lori can't afford ferrets. I really hope they don't replace them with kits once they're all gone.
Also: thank you Kevin for giving a detailed list of all the things Kiwi Farmers have said that trigger you the most. That was a real 180 IQ play.
