US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

So there's an interesting thing that happened I was hoping @Gehenna or at least other veteran Kiwis could give their thoughts on, simply because I feel it's entertaining. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts as well.

Recently, there's been a number of big slip-ups with Biden's admin and its ability to maintain narrative, none more so than it trying to work with the press to shore up the "EVERYTHING IS FINE, NOTHING IS RUINED" narrative for the economy. What's particularly interesting is that:

A) It doesn't seem to be working.
B) Biden's admin isn't asking; they're demanding it.

How much of this do you suppose is this fraying from the internal Dem conflicts we've covered, and how much is it them spotting a weakened target and going for the throat in the absence of better options?
Also consider that perhaps the money and the political capital are simply drying up.

The lugenpresse certainly are not all true believers, especially not at the executive level. There are definitely a good number of opportunistic grifters among their ranks who will take the side of whoever pays them off. Their rank and file foot soldiers might be happy to slobber Biden’s wrinkly knob for free, but the big dogs are getting annoyed by the dried-up funds and the increasingly-ridiculous White House antics the Democrats expect them to cover for.

Freeza's backstory genociding planetary populations so he can sell the planets to other overlords for vacation homes was only ever really explored in the Badrock special. In DBZ, Freeza's status over the Saiyans was pure retcon (the Saiyans were introduced as a race as free agent genociders untik Akira gave them a boss after the Saiyan Saga) and he was on Namek solely to find the Dragon Balls. Similarly, in Super, Champa's version of Freeza's people's backstory was only backstory and never seen in action while Freeza is explicitly stated as not giving a fuck about rebuilding his empire (which is what his flunkies who brought him back wanted) and instead trained to fight Goku again the second he was brought back.

For once I want a villain that is resurrected and is like "Yeah, messing with that guy killed me so I would rather just work on my empire and live well. That is the best revenge."

Not that he wouldnt train "Just in case" but this type of vengence driven mentality is so cartoonish and self destructive. I know that this matches Freeza's character better but I force once want a villain that plays it smart and human instead of petty and cartoonish.

Then again, this isnt a DBZ thread but I had to share that.

This is "investment bankers leaping out of buildings" tier bad, btw, isn't it?
Not quite yet. If this starts knocking over dominoes in the Chinese real estate sector, though, then yes.

An interesting bit of this news is that another Chinese company, Kaisa Group, also defaulted today. In fact they actually defaulted on a larger payment than what Evergrande had to face. One can pretty safely assume that any given Chinese real estate corporation is as bad as Evergrande when it comes to managing finances.

Wasn't it theorized that the Chinese government would pay their debt and bail them out but kill everyone involved?

China’s actually been reluctant to bail companies out. They really don’t want people to get the idea of “if you get in trouble the CCP will rescue you” burrowed into their heads. Nobody has died (yet).

The defaults, meanwhile, will continue. Ten real-estate companies have defaulted since June. Real estate in China is already in a shitty spot. Another company, Aoyuan Group has said they’re not sure if they will be able to pay their debts this week.

Trump vs Buttigag apparently was polled with a Trump+11 lead.
In a universal swing 15.4%, this would be that map.

Harris was only doing 2% better ar R+9. So cross off IL, NJ, and OR. Still a massive landslide.

Can't wait for Buttplug /Harris 2024!

≥375+, but <400? Just a casual landslide, brah.

All I need to see is a Newsom v. Trump map for maximum hopium. Where's the Biden v. Trump rematch map?

If it gets really bad and McConnell continues the cuckening into '22 and '23 like how he's breaking his promise of not helping the democrats raise the debt ceiling (that promise lasted all of two months), and he has at least 20 other toadies with him, they probably will try and impeach Trump again out of office so he can't run again.

Unconstitutional? Yes, but so was the last impeachment but SCOTUS just looked the other way.

Almost, that'll happen when they file bankruptcy.

In China? Probably not..because Xi will blame them and have them put to death.

This is an article from 10 years ago, but Chinese billionaires have a habit of being deleted.

I'm no statistics whiz, but it seems to me that a Chinese billionaire dies every 40 days.

China Daily reported Friday that unnatural deaths have taken the lives of 72 mainland billionaires over the past eight years. (Do the math.)

Which means that if you're one of China's 115 current billionaires, as listed on the 2011 Forbes Billionaires List, you should be more than a little nervous.

Mortality rate notwithstanding, what's more disturbing is how these mega wealthy souls met their demise. According to China Daily, 15 were murdered, 17 committed suicide, seven died from accidents and 19 died from illness. Oh, yes, and 14 were executed. (Welcome to China.)

Should've elaborated more on that. The problem is two things: firstly, the economy, and secondly, Branch Covidians. The U.S. government and Federal Reserve have practically required prospective central bankers to undergo a lobotomy before taking office. If Americans should be scared of one thing, they shouldn't be scared of Covid. They should be scared of the fact that the monetary supply was increased by over 500% between January and May this year - we went from $3.8 trillion to $19.2 trillion.

Okay, quick diversion since I also want to get this out of my system: inflation is not "a rise in the price of goods". Inflation is expansion of the monetary supply. Inflation makes you poor regardless of whether or not prices rise, so just keep that in mind when you're reading headlines about the economy.

Anyways. Covid did not help the economy, that's beyond question, but there's a reason I believe it's not necessarily desirable for Biden to declare mission accomplished and end the pandemic and lockdowns. It's the prices.

Prices, of course, have been on the rise for Biden's whole tenure in office. Nobody trusts the Federal Reserve's inflation metrics anymore because anyone with a brain knows it's way worse than 6.25% or whatever. But the government has thoroughly laid the blame on supply chain shortages. There is a near universial expectation that everything will be back to normal once Covid is gone, once businesses resume production at full level, and once unvaccinated chuds can return to driving trucks since they won't be dying from Covid anymore. Prices will go back down, right?

No. Ending the pandemic would give a great temporary boost to Biden's numbers, I'm sure, but it would be temporary... then in early 2023 or whatever prices will still be up and everyone will be calling him the next Carter. And maybe the Democrats would have a few more seats than they would if the pandemic manages to extend into midterms next year. But Trump could still just re-use his economy message from 2016.

As for the Branch Covidians, well... 40% of the nation isn't all in on keeping everybody masked up and getting never-ending boosters because they want to masturbate over how much power the government has now. A lot of people believe that the world won't be safe until Covid is eradicated worldwide, which won't happen since the virus's mutations prioritize infectiousness as a means of replicating itself. And even then you'll have fucking loonies saying we should keep mask mandates in effect permanently. Oregon is already going down this road.

Interesting to see that nobody has died of omicron and it's been over 2 weeks since the first case was discovered.

The response we are seeing in the UK and Europe makes me feel ill and like i'm in a dystopian alternate reality. If it wasn't clear before that this is turning into a forever war like 9/11 and the following "war on terror", it is now.

They need something. The war on terror is largely over and the war on drugs is lost
