Question for the KiwiFart community.

How many of you play games on the hardest difficulty?

I havent played anything under the hardest difficulty for over a decade.
Old FPS shooters would slap your bitch ass around if you up the difficulty.

Phil plays Halo on normal "as intended by the developers" and its insane how many shots you takes before actually dying.
In my case, i only get satisfaction if im playing on the hardest, because of the challenge and thus the reward that comes with it. Obviously people should play games in the difficulty they are comfortable with. That said you cant say "i dominate at this game" only to see, that you been playing it in super easy bitch mode.

For me it depends on the game. I do enjoy challenge here or there but I don't have all day to play games.

I usually play it on hard, not the hardest. I like challenge but I also wanna finish it.
Play it on hard so it last longer. I dont replay games so I wanna prolong that one playthrough. Unlike DSP, I like gaming.

Honestly? Hardly ever. It really depends, like if I've completed the game and feel like replaying it, I'd up it to the hardest difficulty or at least one below that. But most of the time I really can't be bothered with the challenge, don't feel like getting stressed over a video game.

Normal. If i’m in love with the game (which rarely happens), I’ll play it on the highest difficulty. Aside from that, it’s a game, you’re supposed to enjoy yourself, so enjoy yourself lmao. No one is keeping a tally of “cool points” for picking the highest difficulty.

I just don’t like this argument because sometimes you just want to turn your brain off and play the game and I get that. Or you may just not be as good at the game and that’s ok too.

Phil has a history of picking the path of least resistance though and folding like a lawn chair at the smallest hurdle so that’s why this argument is different for Phil - he’s a bitch.

Depends on my mood, when it comes to the Halo Franchise I always play on Heroic since its the difficulty that is supposed to be played on.

One time i went and beat Modern Warfare 2 on Veteran difficulty and let me tell you that was Temper triggering bullshit.

40 years old and still believes in the just-world fallacy.

By his logic, being shitcanned from Machinima, banned on Twitch, made the laughingstock of the internet for masturbating on stream, being dumped by Leanna, going into debt, filing bankruptcy, and being foreclosed on are all completely deserved.

There's nothing wrong with a lower difficulty as long as you don't act like you're King of Platformers or something over it. It depends on the game and the person whether or not that lower difficulty makes a difference between time well spent and time wasted. One gamer getting through Halo on Heroic is having a blast while another is wondering why in the fuck they didn't just watch somebody else do it instead. And often, the roles will reverse for a completely different game or genre. Nobody claps everything they touch. Put StarCraft in front of Daigo and watch his brain melt before your very eyes.

Me, I generally sit at whatever is the happy medium, if there is one. Unless I find the game is just way too easy to be entertaining for me, then I kick it up until it's good enough. I'm generally not amazing, and it's rare for me to like a game enough to want to handle the highest difficulty setting. Again, unless the game simply doesn't challenge me at all without telling it to throw its worst at me.

Halo traditionally was balanced with Heroic being standard difficulty. There’s a book I have somewhere talking about this. They call easy “grandma mode” and it really shows since you have to try to die in Halo CE on easy. As such, Normal is easy, Heroic is normal, and Legendary is hard.

Leave it to 343i to bungle yet another thing and ramp down the difficulty. I mean I guess it’s okay that there’s now Hard and Super Hard but if you wanted that you’d slap on skulls.

343i is dogshit but they made decent skyboxes I suppose.

Has anyone ever asked DSP to give one example of another streamer who begs for money like he does when he says "it's a business we all do it"?
I don't know, but I'm pretty sure they got the LIMB, which is one of the few somewhat smart things Phil does, because holy shit does he make things worse when he tries to bullshit his way through such questions instead of just ignoring them.

Like I seriously doubt he knows to use Bad Bunny as an example, but completely would make that mistake if he had enough awareness of other streamers besides PewDiePie. A rare example of his ignorance actually saving him a heap of trouble, because evoking Bad Bunny when confronted with such a question is like volunteering to be BBQ'd.

agree. divinity was kicking my dick in on the normal difficulty so i turned it down one notch, felt a little guilty but i actually want to be able to play the game

Yeah the game is very tough, but when you do succeed you feel badass.

I mean that's the point of challenging games, they are usually give you an immense feeling of euphoria when you conquer them, but I totally understand if you

A: don't have enough time for them.

or

B: would rather hone a skill.

Would be way more rewarding to be a good writer, or musician than it would be to have beaten all the Ninja Gaiden/Dark Souls games, but again as long as you aren't begging to make a living you are good!

Certain games however push me to the edge, like Spelunky 1 and 2, those games I have yet to beat and grind my soul every time I play them.

Edit: I promise I speak english...I just don't proof read.

He has been for months, because it's unbelievable that someone is willingly paying a $25+ tithe to Phil every day for ???.
It's almost as fascinating as Jaxx and his Friday night Street Fighter donations, but not as pathetic when you know the circumstances related to Jaxx.

I saw another streamer beg once at the start of his stream. He begged to viewers not to spoil the new game in chat and not to handhold him through it. He said if he get really stuck at a part, he might ask for help later.

Depending on the game, a lot of game devs tend to think difficulty = bullet spounge/lack of resources which for me becomes more boring than a challenge.

It's also far less satisfying to overcome something like it takes half a clip to kill a guy in a wife-beater instead of 2 shots but nothing else changed as opposed to something like Seikro or Cuphead where it's your own gameplay and learning that overcome the difficulty.
