Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

If there's one thing I learned about this fiasco, it's that anyone who claims that "no one wants Vic dead" actually wants him dead.

There. Fixed it for you.
Everything these people do is pure projection as well. Some of these "He's a sexual predator!" tards have already shown themselves to be sexual predators and deviants.

I mean these are the same people who use a gif from the video deposition to prove that Vic admitted to Marchi's allegations when the audio proves the opposite.

These people don't care about the facts or what really happened. They're counting on people not doing any research and taking what they say at face value hoping you'll fall for it.

If ISWV really wants to help Vic at this point, they don't do it by trying to get people like BT to change their minds. They do it by exposing these people for what they are: Liars. Whenever they see KickVic lying to someone about what happened, they should reply to that someone with the truth if they've done the research.

Nothing would drive KickVic crazier then being unable to convince people of the lies that they spread.
True, but if I had a twitter, I would be too lazy to save stuff to my computer just to post on twitter. On a side note, even having that doesn't seem to help as it has been shown time and time again that these people have little to no reading skills at all.

There's a discernible pattern. Eric Rolon and Alison Viktorin are white, conservative, Christian (at least in Rolon's case, don't know about Viktorin), arguably good looking. They got yeeted out of Funimation. Karen Strassman, also a white lady with maybe some conservative leanings, caught some heat as well.
Would like to point out a two things:

Alison Viktorin’s case is not clear. She claims that she retired from voice acting in anime was because she wanted to focus more on her son’s health and she didn’t like to record remotely. Also, I seem to recall she retired before making her statements regarding the January 6th Capitol riots.

Karen Strassman works out of Los Angeles and has barely done any work for Funimation. Also, as far as I know, no VAs went after her.

What they did to Vic has only caused the political bullying at funimation to escalate they've realized the power they have to control cons, stir up twitter mobs & get away with it. They've created an environment that even if coworkers disagree with their narrative or politics they just smile and agree or hide rather than stop getting roles or get dog piled. Shits only gonna get a lot worse to since they've got a monopoly. Now they can be as shitty, political & vile as they want, it's either them or nothing
John Swasey likely has conservative beliefs and he continues to work with both Funimation and Sentai Filmworks.

Dave Trosko is a conservative and Christian who continues to work with Funimation.

Caitlin Glass is also a professed Christian and she currently voice acts and directs at Funimation.

This sounds like a familiar argument, such as the one where a VA mentioned years ago somethings about confederate statues & Chris sabat came in virtue signaling. It's blatantly obvious & all but confirmed that political bullying & out casting goes on at funimation.

The VA who questioned about why people were advocating Confederate statues being removed was John Swasey. All Sabat did was provide an answer to Swasey’s question, so I fail to see how he was virtue signaling. In fact Swasey thanked him for it, so it seems he never took Sabat’s response as hostile.

You keep mentioning Swasey and Trosko as the two exceptions that proves something. You seem to know a lot about them.

Have they made any statements showing disagreement with coof-related mandates? Maybe they've said something pro-Orange Man, or maybe pro-Rittenhouse. Maybe something in support of the Texas abortion lawsuit law. Maybe something critical of critical race theory. Surely, these people must've said something "conservative".

Because of the evidence we've seen, the moment you say something that goes against the grain, you're out. Skeptical of January 6th, like Viktorin? Gone. Supportive of Rittenhouse, like Rolon? Gone. Critical of coof mandates, like Spike Spencer? Browbeaten until he apologized. I notice Jeff Johnson, who still seems to be quite friendly with Vic, hasn't gotten any roles lately.

He literally justified a public Lenin statue because it had a poem saying he was bad,yet advocated for the removal of confederate statues. I don't see why you seem laser focused on believing these VAs don't bully & outcast coworkers over politics or other petty shit.

Hang on. Spike Spencer did what?
He made a quip critical of coof mandates, specifically Germany's.

Also made a quip on a case that may or may not have been Rittenhouse's.
It seems that Lynzee is going after another well know voice actor for having an opinion again.

He later clarified
Spike laying it down to all those screeching at him.

But eventually bitched out
There's been a couple of audio commentaries with people that really have nothing to do with the medium. I know Bennett the Sage was on the Gunsmith Cats disc, Matt McMuscles is on the Final Fight OVAs and Mike Toole is on a bunch of Discotek ones. Thankfully they're optional, but I'll wait to pick up the disc used and I still have the DVDs which work just fine.

Update: Spike deleted his tweets and his justification of said tweets to Lynzee. Also, he uploaded an apology video after "talks with some friends" on his Facebook page.

Swasey allowed Anime Dallas 2020 to be held in-person despite the rising Covid-19 cases (this was before vaccinations were widespread) and him being exposed to someone with it a week prior. Many people criticized him and his decision as a result.

Trosko has liked Tweets from Trump and other conservative figures and emphasized Covid-19 should be called a “Chinese virus”.

I’m on the fence regarding Viktorin because she never mentioned people in the industry coming after her being the reason for her retirement. I also find it interesting she has worked for Funimation for more than a decade and was always vocal about her conservative views, yet she continued to get roles.

In my opinion, Rolon re-posting a stream by Nick Rekieta is more damaging to his career than simply supporting Rittenhouse. I mean I don’t think a company is going to want to work with someone who supports an individual who helped file a lawsuit against them.

Just curious, but how do we know Jeff Johnson is still friendly with Vic?

He literally justified a public Lenin statue because it had a poem saying he was bad,yet advocated for the removal of confederate statues.
You are correct that Sabat said the Lenin statue has a poem below it saying it sucks, indicating the statue’s purpose isn’t glorification or support for who/what it represents. He also explained that the statue is private property and on private land.

You talking about the one in Seattle? I heard about that little spat when the statue removals were at their peak. That last sentence really put a damper on things, but I don't know who owns it.

Jeff is one of those voice actors who's been doing work at Funimation since the early 2000s and yet has gotten very few notable roles outside of his character in Overlord. He mostly does additional voices in most titles.

There are others VAs I can think of such as Duncan Brannan who's been working at Funimation since the early days but because they're not in the clique they're not getting much work outside of additional voices. It's rare when they get something like a supporting role.

I imagine they're going to parrot the "Dozens of Women" whose testimonies have been debunked in the past as "Proof." Also, they fail to read the post date of each Tweet... Which date to around when the movement started gaining momentum, not back when it wasn't even a thing.

Lmao. He can't even read the statute correctly. Assault requires intent. If Vic didn't reasonably believe his contact with Marchi would cause her distress, that's not assault.

I can, of course, predict their argument. "Vic should know that yanking someone's hair would cause them distress, therefore assault."

Except he denied the contact as Marchi alleged it. Gee whiz, that sounds like a fact question for a jury to determine.

Wrong, Israel. The context of the gif is Vic mocking the very idea that he violently grabbed Jamie by the hair.
Sam Johnson, J. Sean Lemoine, & LawTwitter have taken that gif out of context and spread it around while sperging "SEE!! SEE!! VIC ADMITS PULLING JAMIE'S HAIR!!! GUILTY OF SUPER RAPE!!!!"
If you actually watched the deposition videos, you would know that Vic stated that he held Jamie's hair near the end of strands in a gentle manner instead of grabbing a fist full of hair at the base of the skull like Jamie claims. But you lot care about hot takes on Twitter than the truth and are willing to spread misinformation because "Vic Man Bad."
