Serial killer fangirls

I've seen Richard Ramirez fangirls, they definitely exist. A lot of the serial killers in that episode have fans, especially Jeffery Dahmer. I noticed even AHS couldn't refrain from portraying him as romantic but crazy. I have some slight empathy for Dahmer because he had a lot of problems growing up, but I am baffled by people who seem to find him romantic in any way.

He crudely lobotomised young (even underaged) guys after drugging and kidnapping them so he could have a sex slave that would be incapable of leaving, not because he was super romantic and just wanted a boyfriend who would never leave him.

Pretty sure that if he'd been straight and doing this to women people would be less eager to romanticise him and would see him as more of a creeper.

Of course, he'd still have fangirls and fanboys.

Have you read My Friend Dahmer?

Really good read. But yeah. Dahmer seems subject to some fucked-up yaoi treatment by his fans.

Considering her backstory, her lesbian lover, and the fact that she targeted men, I'm surprised tumblr doesn't consider her one of their official heroes.

I've heard the occassional defense of her. Like she was actually the victim, because she was raped, blah blah blah. These were mostly on your extreme radical feminist boards, of course but it's still fucking creepy.

(Funny thing is, wasn't it her girlfriend who first went to the police with her suspicions?)

I haven't seen a lot of dedicated fangirls of Wuornos. She usually gets a mention along the lines of "historic badasses" that murdered and pillaged but it was cool because they were women.

I watched a Wourmos documentary that was released before the theatrical "Monster" in 2003. I think the former was from the 1990s- wish I remembered the title.

Anyway, Wourmos claimed that the johns who picked her up became violent with her (first) and tried to attack her, which is plausible. Kind of a simplification, I know, but I guess that it was a mix of revenge and self-defense?

I think perhaps Wournos was maybe a case of acquired sociopathy, where she wasn't born that way and didn't suffer any brain injuries but developed sociopathy as a response to the abuse and trauma she suffered. I don't believe she was a born sociopath, she doesn't tick the boxes.

I don't know if the men tried to rape her. It's as likely they did as it is she was lying to try and get a lesser sentence. My feelings are that the truth lies somewhere in between. I think she was looking for a reason to kill so she could feel justified/righteous in her murderous impulses, and she took the first opportunity that presented itself. So maybe at the first sign of the johns she killed getting handsy or belligerent or rough she thought 'good enough' and went for the kill.

That's pure speculation, though.

I haven't read My Friend Dahmer, but I might look into it.

I could buy 1 or 2 deaths, but 7 deaths not so much.

That was basically the prosecutor's argument, we could buy that you had to act in self defense from a single man up and attacking you, but not a half-dozen, all in a row, that you managed to get lucky and fight off time and time and time again.... especially not when she started taking their personal property and showing it off to her girlfriend, that's not the behavior of someone who was innocently attacked, that's someone being proud that they finally got to be the aggressor instead of the aggrieved. (Keeping trophies of your victims is classic sociopathic serial killer behavior)

Whatever your initial thoughts on Wournos, I don't see how you could conclude that by the last 2 or so of her victims she was doing anything except looking for the flimsiest pretext to convince herself they were going to victimize her and she was just acting in self-defense by murdering them before they knew what happened.

But it is kind of strange she doesn't have a more vocal bunch of groupies around her.

This is actually just a photoshopped Zyzz tattoo.
For those of you unaware, Zyzz was an australian bodybuilder who was very well known for saying catchprases like "Fuark!" and "Sick kunt". He later died in a sauna *yawn*

They are both idols of loveshies so it isn't that much better

Probably. Manson married a girl in her 20s not that long ago. But the whole thing was revealed to be an elaborate scam to gain possession of his corpse and set up a kind of "Lenin's Tomb" with the body.

Honestly, I'm not sure which story is worse.

Another reason the madman balked at the plan is because he believes he is immortal. “He feels he will never die,” Simone said. “Therefore, he feels it’s a stupid idea to begin with.”

Fucking incredible.

Manson is a contemptible little troll and deserves to be fed through a hole and ignored until he passes away (probably within the decade), if you actually listen to any of his archived interviews you realize the guy is on the same level as a modern day meth-had, a rambling stream of invective that he thinks makes himself look fearsome, but just makes him look like the pile of human garbage he is. I never bought into this mystique he and the media tried to build up around him as some kind of Rasputin, posessed of some kind of weird depraved power.... he's nothing of the sort

His criminal career was mostly stealing cars and breaking into mailboxes, and he was a coward on top of it all, when the cops came to arrest him they had to drag him out from hiding under a bathroom sink.......

Devil incarnate my ass........... Richard Ramirez was a scarier fiend than him.

I think that the only reason why people think that he was like that is because of the family and helter skelter. Although there really is nothing special about either one the media sensationalized both and will ignore such things now. If he were around today we would just say that he was a generic crazy person who was slightly charismatic than the average crazy person such that he managed to persuade other crazy people to commit crimes with him as opposed to committing them alone

I read Night Stalker (by Phillip Carlo) which is about Richard Ramirez, and part of a chapter discussed the fan visits and fan-mail he got before & during his trial. The author summarized some of the girls' letters to him with all the ugly details. Some wanted to have sex with him on top of the corpses of recent victims. Others wanted to drink blood together. Some were self-proclaimed Satanists maladjusted in more ways than one.

Just goes to show that sick fucks attract more sick fucks.
Back when I used Tumblr, there was a girl that one of my (former) friends followed whose blog was entirely devoted to serial killers and creepy shit, and she would talk about writing to Richard Ramirez constantly. She sent him nude pictures of herself and he'd write back to her thanking her and telling her he masturbated to them. She would wave that shit around like a flag.
