It isn't just that government employees trend left. Republicans show zero interest in ensuring state agencies are run in a way that politically benefits them. A good example is all this crit theory crap. The reason it exists is the left, years ago, gamed the rules of state accreditation agencies to enable pseudo-disciplines that reject essential concepts of academic rigor like objective facts, morally neutral logic, and material evidence to start offering degrees and gaining power. There is no reason Republicans couldn't have stopped this. But when you, in a deep red state, bring up the topic to them of how organizations that they legally control are undermining them at every turn, they look at you like you are asking a cockateel to mow the lawn.
Because it doesn't have anything to do with "improving the business climate and bringing jobs to the state." It's the "Sir, this is a Wendy's," response, because Republican officials legit do not understand why you think the party that controls the government should have anything to do with what is taught in schools owned by the government.
