(Though in hindsight....) but anyway, she was finally going to let him come over but she had a stipulation:

Except that didn't matter because she proceeded to call me FIVE times one day and then another two the next day. I didn't answer. I told him essentially fuck it, I don't want him to come over anymore. I was not going to talk to his mother again. It wasn't worth the drama. And then he proceeded with the guilt trip.

Honestly this interaction is making me think that Chibi's mom is either a small cow in her own right, or way too directly responsible for the current state of this man to the point where I almost feel sorry for him. She did try to do things like get Chibi into therapy, but it was too late IMO. She took Chibi to a therapist 5 years ago and she told him to STOP STREAMING so he could get his life back on track.

I don't know, knowing just how shit and stupid Chibi is, it's hard not to feel some sympathy for anyone in his life, no matter their involvement in his becoming this way. The way I see it, she is in a position where she is dealing with the consequences of her mistakes from two decades ago. So yes, while she may be responsible to some extent, that is still a shitty position to be in.

In this particular instance, I can just imagine what she is thinking. If I have my timelines right, this is either after or right around the time of the gym membership fiasco - and this is just one of the incidents we are aware of. You have an autistic son who is a) too trusting b) too stupid c) horrible with money and d) socially inept, and that son is trying to go to some "online friend's" house to run a streaming con (streaming being something that is also fucking up his life). I can totally understand her getting involved because there's a non-zero chance that it will end up biting her in the ass, possibly financially, possibly even legally if courts would determine her to be a caretaker of this adult retard, etc. Her being protective of him in this instance was probably 100% for the best for everyone involved, except maybe us because we may have missed out on some milk.

I want to make it clear that I am not defending her as a person, whatever beliefs she has, or whatever she did to make Chibi this way. I just think that her faults don't preclude sympathy, because as always, no one deserves to have Chibi thrust upon them like a cross to bear. Chibi's childhood is a relatively murky subject for us, so while we may have some seemingly decent bets on how Chibi's mom may have failed him, we don't know what it was really like; the only facts we know is the bullshit Chibi puts people through now.

The most disgusting thing about Chibi aside his personality is that he can't groom himself. Every picture of him looks like you could use the grease in his hair (which looks stupid to begin with because of the dye and him not taking enough care of it) to fry food perfectly with and his upper beard is never trimmed so he could basically chew on it if he really wanted to. I agree with everything you are saying, but I will say that TMS does show promise as an adjunct treatment for depression (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4214363/) and (https://www.nature.com/articles/s41598-020-80927-5) which I hope to God is what he is ACTUALLY talking about and not genuine magnet therapy, especially because AFAIK, TMS is usually used after psych meds don't work. This, combined with him saying dramatically that "this is my last hope", and the fact that he is "meeting with therapists" makes me think that this might be what he is actually talking about. There is actually some evidence (https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1935861X20300073) that TMS can improve executive function (the cognitive processes believed to underlie to self-control) in autistic individuals when the DLPFC is stimulated IF the individuals have particularly poor executive functions to begin with (and you know our Chibi has bottomed out there), so there is SOME potential that this intervention could actually help a little bit. The effects on depression are fairly small in magnitude though I believe.

I will also add that there is a risk for seizures associated with rTMS, albeit a small risk, so an "I had a seizure because of my magnet therapy for my depression" episode is possible.

That said, I can completely believe him genuinely going to some shut-ins house for a magnet therapy consultation and then calling her a therapist, so the mystery is still out.

I want to second this. I haven't had a chance to throw my 2 cents on the topic of his mother yet, but I think a lot of you are extremely harsh on her.

We definitely know she was not an ideal parent, especially for a tism child, but we have no reason to believe she was a horrible parent. Being fairly an overprotective parent is all we have evidence of, and in the grand scheme of things that's a minor offense. And typically being an overprotective parent doesn't produce a Chibi or anything nearly as dysnfunctional. She is far from deserving of having to deal with this little shithead, at least as far as we know.
