Whilst I was searching for information on Labelle for the Assigned Male pages on the Lolcow Wiki, I came across this post from his personal Facebook account.

In other words, Labelle got caught up in some anti-austerity protest rally in Montreal back in April—the degree to which he participated is somewhat unclear in his Facebook post. Apparently, a bunch of feminists staged a rally that only women and transwomen were allowed to participate in (Sources: 1 2 3) as a response to a bill that would cut the budget in such a way that, amongst other things, women would have a harder time aborting their children (Sources: 1 2)—because if there's one thing an MtF transsexual needs, it's an abortion.
Anyway, this appears to be the photograph of Labelle and the police that is spoken of in the Facebook post. As you can clearly see, Labelle is clearly being unjustly preyed upon by the evil, predatory Montreal police force.

Basically:
Some feminist collective organised a women-only demonstration in Montréal.
Before the march, some trans people expressed the concern about being ecxluded, because to some feminists 'women-only' can be code for "no trannies allowed" .
However, this particular event was trans-inclusive; that's what the Journal de Montréal article is about.
Apparently the march started peacefully, with about 300 people.
Some participants may have charged against agroup of policemen, ending in a scuffle and tear gas being used. There have been arrests, but they say they don't know how many or for what reason.
The rest were dispersed by police; the whole thing lasted about an hour.
That's about it, that article isn't very informative.

Based on what I'm seeing in this picture, it looks like it's the other way around, with Sophie and some other shrieking harpies assaulting and screaming at a bunch of visibly annoyed police officers who are showing a great amount of restraint by not giving Sophie and her friends a well-deserved beating.
