US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

And if you don't believe him... YOU AIN'T BLACK!

Ah, this reminds me of simpler times:
Tl;DR: He had admitted in the past that he didn't go out marching or go to Selma or anything like that: He worked at "an all-black swimming pool" and was "involved in what they were thinking," but ultimately, he was "a suburbanite kid who got a dose of exposure of what was happening to black Americans in [his] own city."

Kind of weird how far back that is

It's funny you mention that, because the F22 (which is arguably vastly better than the F35) effectively is a small-batch artisanal fighter jet. A hundred and twenty got built, so there was never any chance to get economics of scale working like there is for the F15 (50+ years in production and still going strong), and then the tooling was ordered broken up, despite Japan and Israel wanting to buy them. I've heard the material tooling was eventually warehoused but I could be wrong about that.

F22-kun was supposed to step up and help retire F15-sama, but that's not happening. 1000+ F15s in US service vs. 120 F22s? I don't care what sci-fi wet dream the USAF is living in, weight of numbers will get through high tech, eventually. Back me up on this one, Bone_Buddy.
Our defense industry is becoming downright Soviet in its inability to deliver.

Fun little fact: Fedgov has larded up defense contractors with so many political rules over the years that to a great extent, they just serve as hiring agencies for sub-contractors. So often, it's more like Congress is paying Lockmart and GD to figure out how to spend money on defense than to actually do stuff.

Gotta keep the historical mythology of the democrats saving America from evil violent racists alive. I don't know how anyone buys this constant civil rights pandering.
In Biden's case it's much less promoting standard party narratives and more he's well known to routinely steal ideas and take credit for accomplishments that weren't his.
Half of the man's failed run for president in the late 80's was outright copying speeches and ideas from the UK's Labour party of the time.

I'll historically chart it: Biden is the first instance of a president entering office outside their prime. Reagan was sharp before the fall, and Trump kept up the energy despite the gaffes.

Biden looks like a better president when looking at the past. I'd unironically take '19, creepy facelift Joe other than this nonce they have to revive every day to shuffle around.

I agree a 2008 Biden would have been a better president than current Joe

"Ackchyually the fact-checkers have declared an official ruling yet. So you Rethuglicans are spreading disinformation."
Has anyone here brought up the John Stossel Lawsuit where Facebook says it's fact checkers can't be sued for Libel because their "Facts" are "Opinions"

Heard on the Chans that booker is now also positive for the Kung flu

In the statement posted to Twitter, Sen. Booker said that he has received two doses of the coronavirus vaccine and has received the booster shot. He first began feeling symptoms on Saturday, according to the tweet.

Hey - dumbasses - YOU AREN'T SUPPOSED TO BE GETTING IT AT ALL. THAT'S WHAT THE LITERAL DEFINITION OF A VACCINE IS (no, not the "updated for Pfizer cash" definition, the actual definition).

How soon before you see the following (SHADDUP, people saying "doomposter!11!" stupider shit has ALREADY HAPPENED):

* You can't rent a house or apartment, even with good credit, deposit, and rent: No vax
* You got a mortgage? Doesn't matter if you're paying on time, or paying over ammount due each month. No vax? No mortgage, no house.
* Someone ELSE purchased your groceries? NAME PREASE (yoinks groceries and stomps them into the ground)
* Penalty for anti-vax sympathetic activities (buying groceries, paying rent, utilities, etc. in your name on behalf of FILTHY ANTI VAXXXXXXXXXX) will be YOU, Your immediate family, and pertinent secondary family members off to PERM 35. THREE GENERATIONS IN
* Penalty for not wearing COVID passport in pre-approved fashion? See above.
* Reward for tattling on FILTHY ANTI VAXXXXXXXXXXXXXERS? One extra Tofurky SLICE on Brandon's Burfday--NO GRAVY, FUCKING PLEB!
* Penalty for continued existence within Perm 35's "medical facility?" RENDITION

LET'S GO BRANDON

SHADDUP glowniggers, this ain't a handy "how-to" guide.

White House lights up Manchin after he crushes Biden's megabill

:story: Holy fuck Manchin was really leading Biden along. Apparently this week he gave Biden a draft for a compromise version of BBB he said he would vote for, which Biden approved of, and then Manchin did a 180 and went on Fox saying he actually won't be doing that. Manchin didn't tell the White House he was gonna go onto Fox and kill BBB until 30 minutes prior, which led to the White House panicking and sending him phone calls which he ignored. Not even Bret Baier, the guy he was on air with, knew Manchin was going to say what he said.

What a class act.

The desperation is tangible. Not only does the White House feel genuinely betrayed by Manchin lying to their faces, they're also well aware that they need to get something, ANYTHING done.
this guy taught nick saban everything he knew, why wouldn't you expect him to take a small seat in west virginia and use it to become king of america? Nick Saban is the king of doing what you just described in college football. if he's the robin, then the dems should have just resigned when they knew they'd be negotiating with the batman
Tin-foil hat time: firms are not offering more competitive wages/benefits/what have you to attract new hires and alleviate the labor shortage because:
1. Those that are still working can just be asked to work longer hours and do more, so they don't have to take on new hires and be responsible for new wages and benefits and
2. Longer this goes on, the easier it will be to lobby for the mass importation of third-world special visa labor that can be paid pennies on the dollar
that makes sense, its cheaper to pay out overtime throughout the year than hire on more people.
Did West Virginia do particularly well economically under Trump? Manchin pulled the rug out from under Biden today and Biden has a reputation (or so claimed) of being a spiteful son of a bitch when crossed.
no, but whats odd politically about WV is how red it really is, Joe Manchin is almost the only democrat in the entire state at this point. He is the "lesser evil" and he has the rare achievement of being a beloved democrat. he's the token good one. sort of like how guilani or bloomberg was for NYC, you can whine about their party but you'd have to be brain dead to not vote for them come election time.

he's a democratic senator from a state that votes 3 to 1 GOP, the governor switched parties to win re-election, i wouldn't be surprised if joe does the same.

Another thing people forget is that Loudon county borders WV, so you think the school board situation was crazy for you, imagine seeing that shit happening literally in your own backyard, at this point the Dems poll roughly as well as the reform party and libertarians in the state.

on the flip side, isn't this how we want our politicians to act? he does what his constituents obviously want, he was elected when the state was still deep blue, but now that its bleeding red he still does what the constituents want and despite barely winning reelection last time he still does what the job of senator should be. he could have been fucking them like mccain, but he's earning his spot.

Isn't it creepy and a little weird that both of their responses are almost word-for-word the same? Breakthrough case, making sure to emphasize that it's a mild case and that they would certainly be more imperiled if they didn't receive their vaccinations and booster shot. Maybe I'm overthinking this. But considering how strong the Biden administration's narrative about vaccinations and covid is, to the point of blaming children for anything that might happen this Winter... I dunno. Maybe this is just a paranoid time for me.
