Did West Virginia do particularly well economically under Trump? Manchin pulled the rug out from under Biden today and Biden has a reputation (or so claimed) of being a spiteful son of a bitch when crossed.

West Virginia has a bad economy (generally ranks among the bottom ten state economies). It's also one of those red states where the population votes GOP 99.9% of the time BUT, when polled, indicate that they DO have interest in at least SOME progressive policies, at least economically.

It's one of the reasons WHY Democrats keep pushing the "voting against their self-interest" meme and why progressives keep harping that the DNC should primary Manchin out of his Senate seat with a progressive.
