Plagued Consoomers / Consoomer Culture - Because if it has a recogniseable brand on it, I’d buy it!

Blame the advertisements back in the 2000s where the guy uses it and gets a horde of ladies rushing to him and stuff like that. I remember people using it as a replacement for a shower because they thought it would get them the ladies.
Didn't Chris do that too? I swear he admitted in an "interview" or mailbag that he rarely showered and instead just hosed himself down with Axe every other day. I always assumed he smelled like 80% Axe and 20% god knows what.

Real question: Does anyone here use axe/lynx?
It smells fucking horrible and everyone using it as a teenager pissed me off to no end.
there were a few scents of the soap and deoderant that weren't complete ass smelling I used to use them sometimes. No clue if they still sell them or not but the one with like the 2 dragons on it was like a generally normal clean/soap kinda smell. Looking it up I see it's art has been changed several times and one of them is literally the "logo oversimplification" meme but real where it's now 2 half circles instead of 2 dragons or dragon-looking creatures of vague design. Apperently at some point they changed the blue dragon to a horse or some shit I can literally only find one image of the logo I remember it's wild.

I actually have been using some shampoo lately thats axe brand in the first time since forever after a family member gave it to me but I never checked what fucking label it was. All I know is it's another one that doesn't smell like complete dogshit and it isn't the same soap smell as the one with the dragon on it. Dragon one was called "fusion" and I have no clue if it now smells like ass or still just has the soap-ish scent it used to have.

The fact Chris failed to understand the point of axe's marketing was a joke about women liking men to practice basic hygiene and just took it as "axe smell will get you women" is still funny to me a whole decade later.

I don't think this would be as bad if they were doing it for archival reasons and the games werent fully archived elsewhere

Anyway... More Reddit collecting subreddit posts

I always see consoomers with a line of shit in front of their TV/Monitor, does it not annoy them? How do you even watch the TV with that much shit around it link

Egg cups. Even Reddit was disturbed by this one link (there are more pics in the post)

Sorry about the formatting I'm not sure how to format these multiple image / different size image posts
Those above the door frame are figuratively touching the ceiling :o
And I bet my mousepad they are never dusted, because I’d rather rope myself than get them all out, wash, and put again. More than once.

This is truly horrifying one for me, for a long time here.

and I still don't have a clue why you would want someone to lubricate your keyboard switches. Even his website doesn't elaborate on what the point even is. I guess these people have some audiophile-style autism with their keyswitches.
Alongside what you just said about the smoother operation, I guess the logic is that something hydrophobic covering the connection will stop it from corroding over time and keep it giving a good electronic signal, coming from my experience with car electronics.

But that's car electronics, which are used outside. Doing this to a fucking keyboard is nonsense. What amazes me is that the community, so-called enthusiasts with more knowledge of keyboards than your average person aren't calling him out for his obvious grift. If anything they're supporting it. Fucking reddit man

Well, guess I'll swallow my pride and admit it - there are a couple of Axe scents that I have in the cabinet. Most Axe is way too strong, so you only need a little bit under the arms, but like others said, it was a thing to just lather yourself with it if you were a teenager in the 2000s. Hats off to their marketing team, because damn, everyone knows of Axe, more or less because of that.

The funny thing is, the best ones are always sold out while the rest are always readily available because like only 10% of their lineup is palatable to anyone beyond their teenage years

Not gonna lie, I do find these kinda cool.
Some of them are just way too corporate looking, but I could see me having some of this.
I'm not one of those people who'll obsess over the specs and stuff, I'll get what's good enough.
The LED stuff is kinda a love/hate thing.
I can get the vibe, but I wouldn't have it on all the time.
lol this consoomer faggot keeps DMing me steaming for a fight because this thread struck a cord.

I think the Mechanical Keyboard and Battlestations communities might have enough material for their own threads? What do you guys think? I might work on a keyboard thread later. There is sure to be some drama with failed kickstarters and the like, not just pure consoomption.

I felt like bringing the Disney topic back, so please enjoy the following:
and to counteract it, if you have time to spend, please enjoy this documentary
"The problem with the Disney Starcruiser is marketing."
"Disney doesn't have quiet times anymore."

The worst part about mechanical keyboard consoomers is they are terrible at typing. In one of their subplebbits there was a strawpoll with typing speeds and the most voted for option was 80 - 100 WPM. Which surprises me since most of them are zoomers that are terminally online and you think their typing skills would be reflective of that. I have a 170 wpm typing speed and I've been using a 2014 Razer blackwidow keyboard that I bought from walmart open box for $45 6 1/2 years ago.

In my highschool locker room we used Axe as a deodorant but those cans were mostly just a convenient way to get a makeshift flamethrower into the locker room for hijinks while maintaining plausible deniability.

Reddit being Reddit about keyboards again.

Wtf? Lubricating keycaps? That’s a thing? I was looking into various key switch designs and stumbled across this. Holy shit. A keyboard has over a hundred keys. Why tf would you put all that effort into doing something that I’m 99% sure makes the keyboard worse. Keyboard tech does matter, especially when we use them all the time for work, but this is just fucking ridiculous.

Lubrication of switches changes the sound profile and feel, this is not really placebo and more something that does effect the switch but if you don't care how your keyboard sounds it wont matter regardless.

It really depends how many keyboardfags would be interested, there is always some shit drama going on about someone bitching about MUH STOLEN COLORS and shit group buy results.

I felt like bringing the Disney topic back, so please enjoy the following:

I feel bad for any non-consoomer parent that just wants to give their kid some good memories and they decide to go to Disneyland. Because it sounds like a completely stressful and wallet-draining place. And don't get me wrong, that's what amusement parks do (Rollercoaster Tycoon helped me see that when I could charge for bathrooms), but it feels like it's gotten a lot worse over the years. Standing for over an hour in a line to ride a roller coaster for 6 minutes is insane.

Is it like this at any other park? I'm hazy on American parks but I have a gut feeling that the Six Flags parks give you more ride time for your money than Disneyland.

Depends on the park, the ride, and the day. The nearest Six Flags to me can get some Dinsey tier wait times for the big rides on a busy day, but it has fewer super busy days like that overall. The largest amusement park in my state will never have wait times even close to a Disney park except for special event days when they lower admission costs since all the dregs arrive and shit the whole place up. Disney parks are something special though when it comes to pure pandemonium and crowd size. Of course they're incredibly popular parks in the middle of, or very near, massive population centers on top of the national level appeal and the fact that they are themselves tourist destinations, and unlike most other amusement parks (at least around me) they don't have a winter off season.

Dude... I hate to break it to you, but bragging about your typing speed is completely retarded unless you're a court stenographer or have another very specific use for typing as quickly as possible. Otherwise, nobody gives a fuck how quickly you type, they care about the content. If you actually wrote things instead of spending your time going to testmywpm.com for frequent dick-measuring sessions, you would know this.
