Regarding the Smol Ame dev, isn't his work a derivative of what Walfie made to being with? All he did was slap it onto a platformer, slap on the Hololive branding, and let it loose. Mental illness is such a bad excuse (yet so abusable when you can't be fucked to deal with other people's shit), just as bad as using disability as an excuse.

EDIT: and ofc, money. Seems like everytime money is involved, some artist, indie dev, music maker etc gets a lil pissy when they don't get their "fair' share. Tbh, surprised he didn't bother to use the popularity of his Smol Ame game as part of his portfolio, just like how holobass decided to not to and instead opted to try and get talents to pay them/give them a perma job.

I saw Polka was returning to live reading streams, but was busy all day and am just now getting home and seeing that she sat down and read the fucking entirety of Dazai's No Longer Human. I know the book is essentially ubiquitous in Japan, but I'm still taken aback by the concept that this professional idol who makes funny sounds while playing minecraft decided to read out one of the most oppressively bleak things I've ever read on stream.

In terms of just how their voices sound I think Polka is my favorite.

Off topic but it's fascinating how many classic works of Japanese literature are so filled with hopelessness and loneliness. Kokoro, Confessions of a Mask, No Longer Human, Snow Country, some of Ishiguro's books. Movies like The Human Condition and Harakiri too...

That's because it's the limit of their creativity. No one is listening to holobass because it's his beats it's because he features hololive voices. Just like no one is playing that indie devs game because he made it, they are playing because ame is in it. There is literally nothing for them to capitalize on because as soon as they make something not hololive related they are gonna lose the interest of 99% of their new followers. They would be nothing without hololive hence why the dev's 2nd popular game was about cali and why Holobass other popular songs also featured ame. They essentially trapped themselves in a box with no earnings only momentary praise but praise isn't going to pay the bills.

Calli goofed calling Sana Fauna while trying to get her to play Jump King but more importantly seems the Jump King race tourney that Calli wants to run is scheduled for sometime around Feb. Timestamp is 04:50:00 give or take. She wants to open it to everyone under the Hololive umbrella, including Holostars. Might update this post with actual timestamp and/or clips if the clippers clip it.

EDIT: Calli fulfilling her familial duties, since she couldn't return thanks to the coof, she originally was gonna have a spa date and stuff. Instead of letting the bookings fall through, she tossed it over to her parents. I can respect that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the Small Ame design itself was created by Walfie, and not him? And the copyright itself should be owned by Walfie and primarily, Cover? What right does he have about Small Ame outside of the game? Nothing, right?

I think this is a problem with typical western fangames creators, compared to JP doujinshi games scene, particularly with Touhou as an example. They think they're a big shot of game dev, but at the end they're still just making some fangames and not something fully of their own. Should have improved more on networking, honestly. I think he's lacking on that regards

On the JP side there are tons of people who actually work on games and in anime making fanworks and these guys straight off deviantart think they should be on the same level as guys with 40 years experience

It’s not just you two. A year ago there was cut and dry reporting with some personal anecdotes sprinkled in, nowadays the thread reads like some sort of trash tabloid.
