Skyrim is an awful choice. He'll spend most of it wasting time in the character editor trying to make himself only without the patchy beard, receding hairline, twig arms, or gunt. He may then stall for tips until he only has time for one sidequest, fail it, then call it quits.
Fixed that for you. If Fallout 4 is any guide he could spend a solid hour just making his self-insert. Then we know how he feels about actually making quality khantent.

I seriously can't fathom any reason besides Champions that Phil could possibly have for not streaming on Christmas Day, and even then, he doesn't save up his money for whaling out, so there's only so much he can play on any given day without streaming that very same day. There's a reason he harps on tips so much, after all, and it's his lack of self control.

He's lazy, but even with that, his life is also empty enough that I would expect him to get very bored without streaming. Especially since has nothing to do on a holiday like Christmas. He didn't buy Katherine or himself any gifts, he doesn't have the money or the capacity to plan ahead like that.

Skyrim is an awful choice. He'll spend most of it wandering around asking his chat where to go, and maybe finishing part of a sidequest.
I give it till the golden claw quest in Riverwood. I just can’t wait for him to act all ignorant even though he’s played Skyrim before.

Also, playing a RPG for a marathon stream. Makes perfect fucking sense.

I figured he's keeping up the illusion that he and his "family" are happily spending time together.

I was listening to Tevin's coverage of the 2017 Begsmas stream and there was a part where he talked about how Phil struggles to get a 1000 views on his new videos nowadays. Following the pigroach sometimes really does feel like you're being stuck in a timeloop. The big sagas that you remember making the old days entertaining are just a bit of excitement in between a mountain of boredom, just like today.

I wonder if khats voice will make an appearance on this special event. Or is she doomed to spend the majority of this holiday alone with her Xmas box?

Also goddamn. Skyrim is going to be a slog fest. Another 30 min easily down the shitter while Phil makes himself for the 100th time, sets the difficulty down to milk drinker, and proceeds to waddle slowly through the Helgan scene like he’s clueless. Zzzzzzz.

One day without constant on screen begging. Truly a Christmas miracle. I'm sure he will say shit like "it's da holidays you don't wanna hear about me needing money." All this means is that he knows he will be getting big money from whales which he does every year for Christmas.
When you beg so often that not begging is now treated as a gimmick and some sort of reward for the viewers... Thanks Phil. :story:

I bet a chocolate santa that he will fall back right into begging like "i really want to change my hat guys we only need 2 more dollars please guys". Depending ion how drunk he gets we might even see some more exceptional rants (like "I can't believe I was kicked by Twitch I was my usual self for years and now this happens")

You missed a small but important distinction there, there is no tips goal but there is a tips milestone which even comes with a shitty reward (him swapping hats) attached. From a practical standpoint all it means is that he's going to have a $50 target and reset it every time he hits it, rather than one $1,000-plus goal which is tracked against all night.

This was also one of my predictions for the begathon, which either proves that I am psychic or Phil is hideously uncreative with his grift

The three games have been decided: RE4, Skyrim and The Forest (which the last was previously confirmed)
I love how the games are literally the last to be mentioned in the description of the event. If you saw this without knowing Dave you would think this was an ad for a drunk doing a mukbang.

Also, you gotta love the 12:30PM start for the ATK, he is probably anticipating a dive into the Total Wine haul after the stream ends and subsequently waking up from a booze coma at 11:45AM the next day.

There are a lot of interesting predictions in the thread so far.

After reading twattycake's post I think we should have some speculation on how many breaks this guy is gonna take. The 8hr advertised marathon will probably be closer to 5 at the max. Probably only 3 hrs of gameplay. That is my guess.
You'll be lucky to get an hour game play.

It's so he can cry that he missed 2 days of streaming and other people need to step up.

Which still doesn't make sense because in his own narrative, he already spends plenty of time with Katherine and there's only so much you can do with a cat as opposed to an actual child. Even legit pet parents exceed Phil in the "having a life" department because they have more people in their lives than just their spouse. And often more than one pet. Sometimes more than one TYPE of pet, which changes things.

Even if you believe Phil's lies, it doesn't add up that he would want Christmas off for his "family" because by his own admission it doesn't comprise of more than a woman and a cat, and that simply does not compute. Not when he's home as much as he is, and never talks about not having time for his "family" unless he's excusing himself from doing something he knows he should be. Otherwise, he claims he spends plenty of quality time with Khet and Jasper. So streaming on Christmas doesn't go against his lifestyle in the least, no matter what you accept.

I think anyone watching his Champions account is going to see him whaling like a motherfucker on Saturday. I think that is the only reason he's taking that day off, because he's full of shit about his "family" to begin with and would be sus even if he wasn't. Jasper is already used to Phil ignoring him and Katherine prefers to avoid him, and privately, the pigroach has no qualms about either. Gives him more time for Champions, which his log-in record and financial investment prove is more important to him than virtually anything.

Nothing ever improves in Phil's life, just sits still or gets worse. Meanwhile, the people he shits on constantly aren't living that way at all. It's almost as if there's some kind of lesson there that he's missing...

Phil can be clever as long as it's to do something scummy, and I can especially believe this now because he's pretty stressed out over the paypigs holding out on him. No doubt he thinks this a genius move to trick them into not noticing the amount of money they're giving him over the course of the day. And honestly, it IS smarter than what he usually does, which is draw a lot of attention to the one source of income he should be most concerned about getting exposed for.

Phil really shoots himself in the dick by letting it be so obvious this grift of collecting immediate disposable income on a daily to then spend on Champions on a daily. He should be letting the tips be what they are, and focusing on thanking his fans for spreading the word and getting new people to tune into his streams. He needs to be about views, because it's harder to speculate on how much more money that bigger audience puts in his pocket. Not to mention that by bitching about "lack of support", he just gives more credibility to the Champions meme because nothing he says about bills make sense. Ever. No one needs daily money to cover their financial obligations unless it's their only income, which isn't the case with Phil and he even admits it.

He really could coast for years, but he's going to fuck it all up instead by letting his addiction control what he says on stream.

I know us detractors always get BTFO'd but a big part of me is thinking this is going to be an incredibly un-pahsitive stream.

My expectations: I'm hoping expecting to see low khantributions and a lot of derailing in chat leading to a massive chimpout. Phil seems to be increasingly aware that there's only a couple of whales keeping him going so I can't wait for that to brought up repeatedly, alongside some retconning of the twitch drama/BoA leaks/WWE Champions. I may be wrong as I only watch recaps of most streams but it seems currently that as his viewer base dwindles the concentration of people willing to call him out increases causing him to get saltier and saltier. I just hope that there are some great rants and responses to those wet brained morahns not buying his BS.

My unlikely expectation: Derich reveals himself as a Timmy Thick-esque psyop detractor.

As always, us detractors will kick rocks by the end of this evening, however.

Doubtless he's got a number of big tips locked in already, and with the "milestones" they'll probably come in under socks for smaller amounts.

I don't know, because there's a reason Phil is changing things up in a way that suggests less greed on his part while simultaneously displaying a greater amount of it. Not to mention that I don't think he values promises from big tippers anymore, he has shown quite a level of contempt for the culture within the goutsphere that he doesn't have control over, and the act of trickling the money in, is one of those cultural aspects he admittedly despises.

Phil's seemingly unexplainable chipper mood during certain streams is from one whale, most likely OIC since he's the most dedicated to keeping him from raging, promising to ensure the tips goal is hit, which doesn't irk him because it's one person talking about rigging the game. Not several paypigs who he feels are supposed to be ponying up a lot more than they are. It's like the game-rigging whale is in on the grift, so he allows that, while raging at anyone else jumping in because he's supposed to be grifting the rest of the lot.

This is what he gets for fostering a community that thrives on sticking it to detractors, they don't know that he's actually trying to stick it to his own fans. As in THEM.
Let us not overlook that he just got his youtubebux.
All they means is that it's what he'll be using to whale out on Christmas Day if he doesn't enough money from his begathon.
