That comic was short but luckily the next two are longer. The art is unbelievably amazing and professionally done, the comic was really fucking cute, and I do enjoy the very silly tone it had.
 
For those strong in statistical maths, what are the odds that Friendo managed to catch Pokerus but not a fucking gold Magikarp and/or the odds that she has yet to even catch one?
For those who don't do the whole math thing, at what point did Friendo's want for shiny Pokemon became truly autistic/lunacy?

And no, playing Pokemon by itself does not count for autism to begin with.

EDIT: I guess the one thing that could have saved her all this time was that system that Pokemon Pikachu/Eevee had where, iirc, you caught multiple of the same pokemon in a row, eventually a shiny had to show up. Why did Game Freak/Nintendo remove that QoL??

Fortunately it looks like someone already did just that. Here's the clip of Fubuki talking about it but she doesn't do so very clearly.

My basic take on the math, it isn't that her next encounter is 93.6% guaranteed but rather it is the chance she should've got it in all these attempts. Just goes to show how unlucky she has been. And in this game the fishing system doesn't have a chain mechanic so every single magikarp she encounters has a 1/4096 shiny chance, even her 4096th encounter still has the same 1/4096 probability.

Right, that sounds about in accordance with what I remember, but Twitch subs count too, right? I think I'd prefer to go that way since it should be easier to set up a Twitch account with no ties to my real name, and also Amazon is slightly less evil than Google.

From my extremely large sample size of one, I saw that a female acquaintance on Twitter, who was not originally into vtubers at all, started watching Mysta and seems to now be all in on Luxiem so I'd definitely believe a predominately female viewer base for him. That and he seems to exude big himbo energy which from what I've gathered is also a highly popular character type. Like others have said, they're all probably still riding the debut hype but I'm honestly pretty impressed by their viewer numbers. Interested to see where they'll be at once the dust settles. I feel like they'll probably be okay though. Not sure how fast viewers usually drop off after debut but if they hypothetically lost like half their average live viewers, most of them would still be sitting around at least the level of if not more than the other female NijisanjiEN members. I wonder if that's enough for Cover to follow suit with Holostars EN (or equivalent) now.

those are some really shitty odds.. Really glad I never got into the whole "shiny" or EV/IV thing with Pokemon.. would suck alot of fun outta the game EDIT: I tried to do the math, my calculator eventually zero'd out, which means the % of her not getting it on her 4096th try is so abysmally low, it's in a sense impossible?

I used to joke if I decide to discuss something, it comes true. Coincidence? Maybe. But judging by the math post above, it had to happen eventually lol. Now let the next shiny not-cat-fox decides to farm for is something worthwhile and useful

The odds of her getting it on her exact 4096 try is still 1 in 4096. The odds of it not happening by try 4096 is about 37%. Assuming all the chances are independent, which they should roughly be.
