The Final Fantasy Thread

Still playing FFVII. I just got the airship, and using a rather cheesy strategy, also managed to get a Gold Chocobo, and with it, the Knights Of The Round summon almost immediately after.

You know, from what I've seen regarding the twist with Cloud, I'm beginning to think that it did the whole twist that later games such as Metal Gear Solid 2 and Bioshock would later become renowned for.

Maybe I'll check VI out after I finish VII.

Anyways, on the note of the latter, I just got Cloud back in my party. Thinking about his whole dilemma, he really was pretty much proto-MGS2 Raiden.

This is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite video games. I can definitely see why it is so beloved and won so many awards.

Don't mean to double post, but I am now finally on Disc 3 of FFVII. Man, things are really heating up in terms of the story. Should I even bother with the other side-quests or would that kill the momentum?

Again, this game has definitely earned its masterpiece status. Granted, I had an easier time going through it thanks to the cheats in the PS4 version (me using god mode shows how much of an absolute *****-*** excuse for a gamer I am), but I can still see why it is such a revered title now.

Definitely check out IX as well if you haven’t already. VI, VII and IX are all top tier games.

I did on my first run. In terms of progression, disc 3 is literally the last level of the game. I kinda like that because the game gives you absolute freedom to just fuck around and do the sidequests. VII's sidequests are okay, but they can also break the final part of the game in two. Not that it matters since the last few bosses aren't that hard to begin with.

If you do decide to get the Knights of the Round summon, just don't use it on the last Jenova fight since it gives the boss right after more HP.

Having played Remake to the point where the Time Jannies show up and mess with Jessie, I can safely say Tifa is the inferior waifu. Doesn't pay what I'm owed, offers childhood angst, punches people, and dresses inappropriately for combat. Jessie pays with materia and up front, offers a fight with a SOLDIER and the possibility of pizza, is good with explosives, and wears the necessary PPE for her job.

YoU oWe Me A pIzZa!

Between the pixel remaster and the psx origins version what is the better way to play 2?

PSX has shitty load times and it's more grindy. PR has better music, qol changes, however they fucked with the encounter rate, status effects are more annoying and you can be attacked in the back row.

Yeah your conception of Tifa as the proactive waifu was really goofy and flatly untrue. Almost begging the question if you’d even played the game. But Jessie in Remake is just a knockoff Aeris anyway. You’ll just have to accept you’re irrationally wrong about her one day. *Smuckles*

Jessie was always best girl even in the original. Replay the Midgar section and tell me she wasn't perfect. I wonder who she mains in Smash...
Oh my God, this again?

I keep telling you guys who the actual best girl is.

So how are they going to make the Snowboarding Minigame overstay it's welcome?

The Bike segments were not bad but I spent hours getting Cloud's Box breaking Minigame and Yuffie's box breaking minigame to be entirely done with a perfect score. Fort Condor could be easily broken with flying units and guard dogs but I still went through with collecting all the pieces and boards.
