Chloe Sagal was severely mentally ill. The health/mental health systems failed her. In Chloe's suicide note, she specifically blamed mental health and homelessness for her actions. I can't remember if Brianna Wu was mentioned in the suicide note, but they were definitely mentioned in other notes/posts. Chloe blamed Brianna Wu for a lot of things. You could read the thread if you're curious and want to see Chloe's own words. I think Chloe's board on KF had been inactive for some time prior to her suicide, and she said on numerous occasions that she didn't care about it. A lot of the people discussed on this site never engage with it or mention it on any of their media. Again, as someone with a lot of trans folks in my life, I don't blame KF for Chloe's suicide. Did you know that Chloe was released from a psych hold far too soon, and self-immolated later that same day? It's honestly disgusting to see so many of the "prominent" troons on Twitter point the finger at KF when they're far more culpable than a gossip website.
Fact is, people who put themselves in the spotlight have always prompted discussion from others. Some of it's good, some of it's bad. The internet made it easier for people to demand some sort of spotlight. It also made it easier for others to gossip about them. I haven't seen anything on this website that encouraged or prompted a killing. The widow of a trans woman who committed suicide actually came to KF and talked about their experience. Can't remember the name of their deceased (and estranged) spouse, but someone else probably knows who I'm talking about. That was another instance of people pointing the finger at KF when their own actions were far more culpable in that person's demise.
Insisting that KF is responsible for the actions of idiots/the mentally ill is dubious. Just because someone posted on a website doesn't mean they were encouraged to do whatever. You could make the same argument about any website they posted on, and it would be just as flimsy. Some people are idiots, period. Even with the latest trolling against you, Tommie, a lot of people here kept saying it was a troll, not serious, etc. Most people would look at that text discussing "Nigel Igger," roll their eyes, and delete it. You assume it to be the truth. The NIMH isn't targeting you or doing anything to you. Treating these troll ops as truths is only making you look bad in the eyes of TPD, the crisis folks, etc. And because you continue to post on these public forums, create YouTube content, etc., people are going to continue to discuss you, good and bad. Same as always.
