High Guardian Spice - Tumblr: The CalArt Anime

More to the point, here's a video cataloguing every single adult moment in the show, for your collective perusal. Hey, did you guys know that that there is a moment in the show where the trans teacher literally invites a guy (apparently) back to his place for a good time? Take a look:

Timestamp 2:54 if you wanna find the trans professor seducing someone.
Keep in mind this is Raye Rodriguez' self-insert. If this scene is anything other than fantasy and a joke,
what does that tell the audience about Raye's commitment habits? Can't form them? Or is Raye "still finding himself"?

Methinks its a desperate fujo's (that looks closer to a soft butch lesbian rather than a girly gay guy even with T) fantasy fulfilment of some hawt bishie wanting to play put the pickle in the poop pipe with her just like in them yaoiz she read as a gawky nerdy 12 year old in her cartoon which is nothing but wish fulfilment.

Snapdragon? More like Snap-at your male cisgender privilege-dragon.... eh, eh. *sad whistle sound.
I wish we got a second season, but with less budget, a worst mic for Slimeboy and the same writing team.
Edit: has also anyone else pointed out how they cant claim you have an all female writing team if you accept that rodriguez is a "man"?

i really do not have a problem with self-inserts, but he's doing it worst way possible :/ i'm really glad i grew out of the phase when i self inserted myself into crap FNAF fanfictions when i was literally 9.

The second (from the left) and the last character look like they both could be Raye's self inserts tbh

Also, what's this? Seme/uke dynamics?? B-but I thought that shit was cisheteronormative, outdated and #problematic?? W-wha?

It's only a-okay when they do it, isn't it.
This style looks too much like whoever did it was trying to copy someone else's own style.

Why can't they just work with their own personal style?

Is this Raye's art? The coloring and lighting are fine, but the technical work is kinda dogshit for someone who wants to be an industry professional. Crunchyroll must have some sort of fuckery going on upstairs if they think Raye was in any ways qualified to be a show runner. Even if it was a pure diversity hire, at least start off as a board revisionist, or P.A or something.

Yes, it is. Is it me, or is the artstyle really reminiscent of those "How to draw manga yaoi edition" books from the 2000s? Or something you'd see on Deviantart in the 2000s? Eh, it's not like western animation industry has any standards anymore...
I've read somewhere that apparently Reclaim Gloria is not another "anime", but a yaoi VN that Raye is working/worked on. I cannot confirm it, though.

I was thinking that too, but add in a bit of the CALarts retarded style and you got yourself something as dull and uninspired as the look in raye's eyes. And of course it was a yaoi of all things, at this point there needs to be a drinking game or bingo card on the ftm troons where you take a shot everytime they're a fujo.

Her style and her designs look really amateur. There are good amateurs and bad amateurs, what I mean by that is that her stuff betrays that she's entirely (poorly) self taught. She's been drawing for how long and her poses/limbs still look stiff, the foreshortening is slightly wonky and nothing has texture save for hair and half-assed clothing folds. Her colour choices aren't even eye-searingly bad but somehow the end result is always very bright and saturated which makes everything look toy-like. I can't take it seriously.

ftm troons are more funny to me than mtf troons because they're just sad lesbians who've realized that lesbians are unbearable.
Either that or they're fujo coombrains larping as BL characters and annoying the shit out of actual gay men. Both are hilarious to watch.

This one's pretty hot, ngl

Also note how "cropped" is in the filename. I wonder what's being cropped out?
The "spicy bits", probably.
I'm like 80% sure that the dark skinned character (that may or may not be a self insert) is a TIF.

This image especially got my alarm bells ringing.
That or she just likes power dynamics, which would be obvious if you stop and think about how she self identifies as a uke. Making one partner tall and one short is a trick as old as the book for denoting dominant and submissive. Look at the tits and waist on the woman, she's obviously an adult and has the characteristics of a developed human being.

I want a second season, this dumpster fire is just too funny
Pretty expensive dumpster fire as HGS is apparently on a western animation budget from what the people of SB.com dug up.

HGS is very much "western produced cartoon made with anime budget and style" same as RWBY. My guess is 10k to 20k per minute for each of them, which would be about 2.5-5.0 million for HGS S1, and a comparable amount for RWBY S1+S2. I also kind of wonder if HGS ended up with inflated production costs due to its protracted cycle, or unexpected budget cuts due to Covid-19. Honestly its frustrating how hard it is to find production cost figures for TV shows

Annoying the shit out of actual gay men is a timeless tradition for Japanese female mangaka and later other female artists. Which is yin to the male Japanese mangaka and other male artists yang in annoying the living shit out of actual gay women.
