Funnily enough I've heard some Protties say that when the rapture happens the government, under the orders of the Catholic Church, will say that aliens decided to do mankind a favour by taking every member of Steven Anderson's congregation off to Neptune to be ritually massacred or something along those lines.
What I've never got about this sort of conspiracism is that it implies the Pope, or the Superior General of the Jesuits, or whoever, knows about the Rapture and chooses not to believe in it. If you knew that you'd get a mansion in Heaven purely by saying the words on the back of a Chick tract and listening to a fat man in a suit shout about whatever takes his fancy for an hour every Sunday, then why would you turn that down for a - relatively brief - bit of temporal power?

I don't think so. You can only hype people up for so long before their own fear and farts cloud their minds to anything you might further say. "But what about all the other variants? They didn't just disappear into thin air! All those unclean unvaccinated are still propagating them!" is what people will be saying in response. I agree, I know Dem New Yorkers who spent two years plastering pictures of dead Black people all over their socials, only to feel nothing once those precious Blacks were to be segregated from society due to vaccine requirements.

Carter's greatest flaw wasn't a lack of intelligence, or a lack of courage, or any lack of personal character. it was in fact the opposite. He was unable to dirty himself enough to actually do the job.

He'd have made a really good VP in the same vein as Pence. By this, I mean the wingman to someone more bombastic and willing to play dirty. Trump used Pence to great effect in that role, and Carter would have been superior in that regard.
