The Progs took over a bunch of the state and local apparatus unexpectedly. This being due to the aforementioned groundswell support they enjoy which protects them against damage. The problem is that Reid and the electoral machine he had long stood as king of in Nevada are as Establishment as it gets. This started a small-scale civil war within Nevada with both sides actively fucking the other over since the beginning of the year. Since it's State-level it's gotten very little attention.

The only thing keeping the Establishment faction fully in power and winning the civil war within that was Reid himself. He weighed in, made clear how he wants things to be, and his machine is largely personally loyal to him over any other faction loyalty or even loyalty to the DNC. With his death, that is all but destroyed overnight. Overnight the whole state goes from a thin but decisive situation for the Establishment into one that is a tossup or even pro-Prog.... in a state that is ostensibly purple and already steadily polling worse for the Democrats.

And if the Progs are good at anything, it's driving people away from the Democrats.

This means that the Democrats -have- to come in hard and guns blazing... while already strapped for resources with too many fires going on. It's yet another crisis for them, but what is worse is it represents a real opportunity for the Progs to gain some -offensive- power. If they can fully subvert Reid's machine, they could get a proper Prog senator up and then negotiations get -fucked- for the Establishment.

Depends on country and class, really. Vietnamese are relatively more based because they tend to do more blue-collar jobs like auto-repair. Chinese tend to do white collar jobs like attorneys and doctors. When people say that Asians do well in school, that also means that they absorb the school's culture as well. That also includes CRT nonsense, so second generation types think they can leverage it... and fail utterly because of their high class.

All of them respond to authoritarian state measures though. I've never met any East-Asian with a rebellious spirit. Part of it is that politics simply is something they can't influence. The Dems can do without any Asians and can choose to provide token resources to help them, but they're also really NPC themselves. They've bought totally into COVID and have no desire to question the differences between propaganda and reality.

Ditto the based Vietnamese. We have a bunch in my area that holy crap are they based. They are all second generation and still proudly fly RVN flags. And they are about tied with Hispanics for hatred of blacks.

President Biden said Tuesday he would impose a mandate that Americans be vaccinated against COVID-19 to travel domestically if his medical team recommends it.

When asked when he would make a decision on domestic travel vaccine requirements while out for a walk in Rehoboth Beach, Del., Biden told reporters, "when I get a recommendation from the medical team."

The idea of mandating coronavirus vaccines for domestic travel has been bouncing around the administration for months, and the emergence of the omicron variant caused the White House to revisit questions over whether to impose it.

Biden last month said he would wait for the scientific community to give him a recommendation when asked if consideration has been given to domestic flights requiring tests or vaccines.

Biden’s chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci on Monday cleaned up his previous remarks on a mandate after he said on Sunday that “anything that could get people more vaccinated would be welcome” when asked about for his thoughts on a domestic travel mandate.

“Everything that comes up as a possibility, we put it on the able and we consider it, that does not mean that it is likely to happen,” Fauci told CNN’s Jim Acosta on Monday.

“I doubt if we’re going to see something like that in the reasonably foreseeable future,” he added.

Late last month, White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that Biden wasn’t taking any options off the table, but that he will rely on health and medical experts when she was asked about vaccine requirements for domestic air travel.

Fauci pushed back on questioning from Acosta on Monday about if there is conflict within the administration over whether to impose such a mandate.
“It’s not a question of being in favor of it or not. I’m in favor of what we can do to keep the country safe,” he said.

While the business community takes major issue with a vaccine and testing requirement for domestic air travel, citing the potentially difficult logistics of it, Democrats in November called on Biden to require proof of vaccination or a recent negative test for airline passengers.
