I think coming back as a different character is the last thing Anycolor would want and def shouldn't allow. If the story breaks that they did it'd be an even worse scandal. As for why come back, I have a few thoughts. Going solo would be dumb, all antis and no fans, limited chance for her friends to reach out to her and help her channel. I think her best chance to be an adult, suck it up and accept that she lives on a burnt bridge if she wishes to be a vtuber. Anycolor's screwed, they can't fire her now and call it willing resignation. If they drop her then their goes their bluster this year about protecting their talents and they're already hurting for PR.
Months if not year of zero content is also extremely bad for algorithm, so I can't see why Anycolor still insist on keeping her. Still, this will be a test of Nijisanji's management competence after the rebranding

Cover promoting JP and EN on weeb land: look at this cute girls singing and dancing on stage

How Cover promote Indonesia on weeb land:

The difference between helpful suggestions and backseating is going to be on a person by person level, but it shoudl absolutely be hammered down and stopped by the streamer to their comfort level ASAP, or the chat will just keep escalating and get autistically insufferable.

Almost everyone should implement the system that Korone pioneered and the rest adapted that is the traffic lights system, there is a overlay in Korone stream when she is playing games that tell the chat when they can backseat, Ina adapted it to putting a capybara when she need helps

VTubers cost pennies to "keep" after their design and model has been created. That's how this industry works. There's no real upkeep, as it's not like one additional vtuber is going to require a ton of additional staff, so if they can come back and make some money, it's worth it. Given that JP public opinion already shifted back in Roa's favor, keeping her as long as she wants to remain is a no-brainer. Forcing her out would have started way more shit for Anycolor.

while we on the subject, what are chats suppose to talk about during say a lets play? with twitch, all they do is spam emotes so you dont get much out of them but how do you think chat should act like?
Personally, I think this is an issue with V-Tubers having more rules to their stream, which have been transplanted from the Japanese streaming culture.

Japanese viewers typically only speak when spoken to, or react directly to things happening. For a lot of Holofans, their first experience of a western chat was when people spammed hamburgers during Coco's meme review. Twitch has a shitload of emote spam, but it also has people asking questions, talking shit, talking about other streamers, talking about current affairs, cheering them with bits or abusing the TTS.

It's a lot more difficult with EN V-Tubers because they're adopting a ruleset for a culture that aren't super compatible with it. Hololive chats in particular move so fucking quickly that I imagine only unified thoughts (such as backseating) are picked up by them, which is why their chat interaction is comparatively low to other ENs.

You're absolutely right, though. I don't have an answer. I turn chat off and pray they don't get baited.

I'm not sure what to say to this. Cover kept Mel and Aki after they were involved in a sexual harassment lawsuit and a car accident that were 'bad for the algorithm'. Sana mourned her dog for a month and hasn't metrically recovered. Kronii went to town on her own growth trajectory. I suppose all of these should be on the chopping block as well?

Yuzuki Roa is a big deal whether she's forgiven or liked. She has one of the most active fanbases in the company, and above all she's a moneymaker. AnyColor are not going to say no to a cut of her earnings.

So far, very positive. JP public opinion swung in Roa's favor ages ago as more stuff came out. EN opinion is still mostly against her (as seen in this thread) because EN fans only paid attention to the initial stuff leaked by Narukami and never followed up on it. Most people here are wildly out of touch with the JP scene - Roa has already made back all the subs she lost and actually gained some despite not streaming.
I didn't see a summary here so I went looking for one. For the Niji fans, how accurate is this one?

Since nobody really follows nijisanji her heres an updated timeline that happened
We know basically everything of what happened at this point, the evidence is overwhelming: Immediately after Meiro's debut on 7/12, she sent an @everyone in Nijisanji discord, telling management asked her to change her accent, she claimed the accent was from kyuushuu- this was a lie- and changing it was hard for her, she asked for other members advice. One asked her if she used the accent during her auditions, she didn't, and other one said they were also asked to use standard accent because it was hard to understand them, and maybe it was a similar situation. None of this is speculation: https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm38833109 According to Narukami, later someone told her she sounds like Roa. 7/15, 3 days later, Meiro makes a "no accent stream" but she still uses the accent. Some days later Roa makes an official request to management for Meiro to change her dialect, that was like hers. For some context, Roa's speech is made up, and she developed it with Chitose, a retired member she was very close to, her new default outfit looks very similar to Chitose's clothes and her Twitter banner is a drawing of them. Roa treasures the RP she developed with her. Roa contacts Meiro herself for the 1st time on 8/2, trying to solve this between themselves, since 2 weeks went pass and there was no progress from management, and says her character is as important as her life: https://twitter.com/yuzuki_roa/status/131891275241336422 Meiro starts twitting very similar stuff to what Roa was twitting, on the same day, and she started using a twitter banner very similar to hers https://i.imgur.com/hCfUvjy.jpg https://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm37803769 8/15 Roa unfollows Meiro on twitter and makes vague twits about the issue. 8/18 Roa asks for the last time to talk with Meiro 8/23 Roa makes more vague twits. 9/4 Narukami makes his first video, people notice about the accent drama and start taking sides, Meiro gets criticized and her accent called fake. 9/6 - Meiro collabs with Shiina, who wanted to support a member that was getting flamed. She's given a place in the Resistance and her popularity starts rising even more. 9/11 - https://twitter.com/meiro_oO/status/1304323798418644993 Meiro makes her "Justice is with Meiro" and vaguely calling Roa evil tweet, indicating she is willing to fight. She sends a request for Ichikara to release a statement saying her dialect is not fake. Ichikara tries to compromise saying they will deal with the antis, retweet their official slanders policies on their main Twitter, and if that Roa vague posts again she will have her twitter frozen. Meiro is unsatisfied and decides to graduate. She makes a tweet on the same day saying she is going to take a break. 9/18 - Meiro is active again, saying she's back due to support from Shiina and Chaika. Ichikara accepts her request to not graduate anymore. 9/23 Nijisanji Fairy Tale reading vol2 is released, Meiro is one of the people featured. https://twitter.com/nijisanji_app/status/1306790785950650373 9/24 - Meiro's resurrection stream. She claims to have permission to talk about "what has happened to her", she claims it's not antis, it's not management, that she actually claims it's been helpful, but doesn't deny when comments ask about Narukami's rumors and vaguely implies it is indeed a problem with another member. She talks about how she wanted to quit, but came back. She talks about how she's had "a small problem" ever since her debut. People begin mass disliking the video and speculation runs rampant. 9/25 - Meiro makes a post on twitter saying everything will be alright. 9/26? - Meiro is told by management that her stream breached NDA, and freezes her accounts. October - Meiro requests to graduate again. Management accepts, saying they have not come to a conclusion on what to do with her after the NDA breach, but since she wants to graduate, they will accept, stating breaking contract as the reason. Meiro argues again that that didn't happen, and wants to graduate for "personal reasons". Management says no, Meiro wants to take her graduation back again, management says no. https://www.reddit.com/r/VirtualYoutubers/comments/je2syn/kingyozaka_meiro_megathread/ 10/18 - Narukami releases another video, blaming Roa for the situation, saying she bullied and power harassed Meiro, the video included screenshots of the Nijisanji Discord. Public opinion was heavily against Roa, who stops streaming and starts losing subscribers. 8/19 - Ichikara determines Meiro is the source of the leaks, and fires her for breach of contract. 8/21 - Ichikara publishes their statement. Roa releases DMs. Narukami tries to argue he got his leaks from a friend of Meiro, not Meiro, so it wasn't a breach... Videos of Meiro's past life and previous incidences of plagiarism start to appear, she was lying about the accent thing, faced against the evidence, Narukami makes a video backpedaling and admitting he was wrong, he starts to get attacked and sued, particularly by the Virtual Buddha, who actually manages to get his channel nuked and Narukami banned from Youtube. Roa eventually regained his subs back. Meiro keeps harassing Roa from the grave: and made a porn voice pack with a character, agent "Nigosango" from "Noa", a girl who loves money and sex https://www.dlsite.com/maniax/work/=/product_id/RJ315477.html There's people that still criticize Roa, it's better to have this around.
tl;dr catty passive-aggressive nonsense

Ha, he's playing Civ V even though Civ VI has been out for like five years now. Civ VI is the new Civ IV.
Civ V is the best Civ. You can't change my mind.
I watch him played a bit, and he's okay. I don't think I'll be watching him for hours on end, but there is nothing annoying that would filter me either. He's alright.

the clash between cultures and streamers is an interesting subject. something worth thinking about.

Along the same lines, been watching Mysta play GTA5. He's been really fun to watch. High levels of "Bro you'd spend then entire time busting each other balls with on Discord" energy. Basically that dynamic between Paul Rudd and Seth Rogan in 40-Year Old Virgin.

Peko's also making it fairly reliably to the final laser spiral on Sans. Could be any time now she beats it.

@Renmei Not inaccurate, though it does use language that is very clearly trying to frame Roa as the singular victim by omitting details and re-enforcing her connection to the character.

It doesn't mention how Roa's 'attempt' to contact Meiro about the issue involved leading with the sentence 'I've been here for 1.5 years'. It doesn't mention middle management being assholes.

It's a solid rundown to have a grasp on the situation, though.

Watching some of Vox's Civ5 stream, new rrrat is he's Internet Historian pretending to be british.
Unfortunately the only time Vox doesn't sound like Historian is when he's laughing or surprised and slips into his natural voice.

Historian was a great streamer. Love to see him come back...preferably as a self-molesting squid loli with Internet Historian's voice.

I actually haven't tried VI yet so I can't judge for sure, but I do recall that a lot of people were saying it was inferior to V right after launch. Not sure if any of the updates/expansions have turned that around yet. I'm pretty tired of V's mechanics at this point and I think of diving in every time I see VI on sale, but I figure at this point VII (if there will be one) isn't far off, so I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

III will always have a soft spot in my heart, with its spider-web roads and giant unit stacks of death and "just one more turn"-ing until sunrise.

so i have heard the word "backseating" used alot and had no idea what i meant so i looked it up. are streams really getting their paints in a twist that people try to tell them how to play? like nigga, you could just ignore them or just say no thank you. no need to make up a hole new word and term to shame people into being silent. maybe you should interact with your viewers more?

if only Spnooy cried backseating when he streamed fallout 2 and told people not to tell him how to play. im sure he would have not been mocked and ridiculed by those toxic gamers.
You can disagree that backseating is a problem but as far as the word goes it long predates vtubing and maybe even streaming I know back in the early 2000s as i kid I used to butt heads with friends over couch "backseat gaming" it stems from backseat driving ie telling the driver how to drive

I was gonna say that based on that timeline Roa seems wholely innocent

I have 0 experience with most Jp Nijis to be fair

But is all that is against Roa that they were being rude in their attempted negotiations? If thats the case id still call them innocent if not a bit of a dick/bitch
What did she do that hampered her growth?
I think it was the short stint of very light weeks with minimal streams

I love 6 because it made our government cope, seethe and dilate, we got in as a faction and Simon Bolivar is our representative problem is he looks like the portrait sanctioned by the man himself and not the 3D homosexual scan the government did and forced everyone to admit it was the true and honest depiction of him that absolutely everyone hate because he looks like a monkey

Back on topic, Calli is hitting the gin again and is proud of all of you for surviving this year

Kronii's still the highest growing member out of the council and it's only been 4~5 months, just shy of 600,000 subscribers. She should still be the first in the council to hit 1million around Sept~Oct of next year or 14 months after debut which is still impressive. I think people forget how strong the JP fandom is with HololiveX's debut being stronger overall in numbers both subscribers and donations. And Gura is and will always be an anomaly. If you look at the overall trend across the board, everything is slowing down with everything going back to normal but that's not always a bad thing. Some of us wouldn't be here if it wasn't for the pandemic.

I think the accusation was that Roa was using power harassment tactics to have leverage over Meiro before they started talking, and there was also talk of Roa's management threatening that she would graduate if Meiro didn't. For that, I can't remember who said it and when, so take it with a grain of salt.

Generally, though, until Meiro's PL was brought up, Roa was facing some really serious backlash for victimisation and discrimination of a person with a regional accent. I doubt a lot of her fiercest detractors kept up with the whole story even now, and I'm sure there will be trolls waiting for her. But, yes, the only tangible accusation that remains valid is that Roa tried to make their discussion unequal by leading with how much more experienced she is at the job.
