Let's not go overboard on the "Stalin didn't kill everyone and he liked a good joke, so he must not have been that bad".There was literally an entire famous purge of members of the Nazi party that Hitler wanted to get rid of. It has its own nickname and everything and is the third most famous Nazi massacre.
Also there are tons of famous Stalin friends/associates who never got disappeared. Sometimes literally just because Stalin liked them personally. Fuck, half the reason Kruschev survived is because of how much Stalin liked his jokes. So, yes, this is not only sperging, but inaccurate sperging.
Public witch hunts and people stabbing each other in the back over bullshit to prop themselves up has been a thing everywhere, forever, as has mass public shaming. The thing that makes cancel culture so fucking shitty is 1) The power of the internet and 2) they're claiming to do it in the name of progressivism and trying to put a moral spin on it.
Now stop whining about people calling you out for being a dipshit.
Between '37 and' 38 Stalin approved of killing over 720,000 Soviets. Hitler killed perhaps as few as 85 in the Night of Long Knives.
