Those guys at least had an excuse. When all of this goofiness kicked off, it was just a way of blowing off steam. But then a bunch of pretenders saw it and thought that the dudes they wanted to be like gained their man-powers from the beard and punisher hats, rather than the beards and decals coming after.

Dudes started growing beards either a) after retiring because "I always had to shave, now I don't so fuck it" or b) after growing one in the middle east to ape the culture to get shot at less when interacting with the locals (Arabs view facial hair as a mark of maturity and at least pretend to listen if you have some of your own). Punisher crap was (and largely still is) escapist fantasy that at least for a moment guys can imagine how it would be if they weren't constrained by bureaucracies that exist solely to keep the problems in place. People like to point a finger at Chris Kyle, but these things were going on long before he appeared on the scene.

I wonder if Jack (the grandpa) ever started his own HVAC company. I've had some HVAC companies as customers and spoke to the founders of a couple pretty often. Those niggas were ROLLIN in money. Shit was crazy.

So I did a dive tonite into his event database that he or his webdev kept populated with past organizers and/or what I assume to be top tier members as well as the locations they used for meetups, etc.... The more I look at this (with the other info thats surfaced re his extracurriculars with the gf) the more it looks like a fucking swingers network that doubles as a coaching staff for recruits. Maybe/maybe not. Knocking off for now but wanted to at least dump this.
