I really noticed it when some regulars on my favorite podcast (I won't say what it is because its really niche) transed out. If you look back 30 or 40 years, there were tons of men who enjoyed crossdressing and such, but they kept it private because they recognized it's a fucking fetish. I'm no pearl clutching prude, but we're beyond the point of simple sex positivity. It used to be about the destigmatization of sex as a concept, especially for women considering how many were shamed into being uncomfortable with their bodies. But nowadays people revolve their whole fucking personalities around what kind of porn they jerk off to, and if it makes you uncomfortable to witness as an unwilling participant, you're the bigot.
