I think that was mostly Bob, since Barb just didn't do jack shit. But you are right. Something should have clicked for Bob the moment Chris was suspended from PVCC. Since this was before Chris was discovered, I think Bob should've sent Chris to military school, or could've done something to curb his behavior. It all went downhill when the Chandlers got the internet. They went from mainstreaming, to Chris going to jail for having sex with his fathers' wife.

One show he surely watched was GoBots, which was then a cheaper imitation of Transformers. Barb tried to bribe Chris into talking with GoBots toys.

and yet, Bob still pushed forward with it. After that, the mainstreaming experiment failed with Chris not doing a damned thing with his CADD degree (after learning how to do it, Chris' designs were as awful and awkward as his drawing 'skills'), and spending the rest of his life, along with Borb's, getting into it with trolls. Bob must've checked out just waiting for death for the remainder of his life. Another event in which Bob should've stepped in would be Chris' Ohio trip, but he was oblivious.

I think the best thing Bob could/should have done, was just cut the internet. Bob and Barb never used it, and knew it was bring in all this trouble because Chris was using it.

Even the more reason to keep Chris isolated from the general public and the internet. Chris simply cannot/will not confirm to the normal world: he wants people to keep fueling his delusions. Chris always will go to people that will stroke his ego, and end up using him in the process; Chris is incapable of using common sense/good judgement. Then the incest. If Chris is able to to this to his own mother, who's to say he won't move to other types of victims? I fully agree with that, Chris needs to be kept away from the internet, it's not good for him even if he never got discovered it gives him access to some very enabling ideas that warp his limited understanding of the world even more than it already is.

Main streaming can work for some special needs kids, especially if it's only minor issues they have and have a little extra help but for people like Chris it's most definitely a fools errand.

Chris getting mainstreamed was a decision they both took, and I am prety sure it was lead by Barb and not Bob for all his faults he did genuinely seem to care for Chris in his younger years especially and was for lack of a better term "educated" and while he was holding certain preconceptions of what a Special needs school was he would have been swayed by evidance, but Barb is the type of person who's more swayed by the social pressures of looking normal (even if your not) in a keeping up appearances kind of manner.

Thats why she took the easy way of doing it when Chris made excited grunts at the TV when a toy commercial came on she got the idea of getting him to speak by bribing him with toys if he could read out the name, as long as he could say basic pleasentarys and look normal to a casual observer that was just fine and dandy, and Chris being in a special school would have destroyed that idea for her.

Chris wouldn't have been able to handle that kind of school, Chris is enjoying the enforced routeen of Jail right now but a military school is far more strict than a prison especially for teens, don't forget Chris's default morral setting and prety much the only one he has is Coward,if he had some one shouting at him to get out of bed at 7am for a run around the grounds on a cold and wet day and he rolled over only to find himself pulled out of bed and forced to get dressed and half arsed a jog and get screamed at for it he'd retreat back inside himself and you'd either end up with a Basket case or a Gomer Pile.

To get Chris to conform you need a Carrot, a Stick and a Sword of Damocles constantly in play- a easy to achieve goal with a obvious reward that if he keeps doing it he get's a reward so cleaning his room properly get's him a McDonnalds if he does it 10 times throw hima game or lego set, and keep doing it till it becomes a habit, but let him know if he doesn't do it correctly he doesn't get it twice, and if he fufills all the goals as he should he get's a big reward ever year and if he fucks up the size of that reward get's smaller, and you have to punish him the second he starts to half arse it and if he trys to game the system the punishment is worse.

And this has to continue for the whole of his miserable natural life, and you will have to cycle things in and out on a constant basis when things that he was doing well start to slip after a while.

you really think anybody would actually take chris in, house and feed him for free, and deal with all the shit that comes with having chris fucking chan in your house all day every day? i think there's no way that happens. and if it does, that person will very quickly realize the mistake he's made and throw chris out again.
